You really start to get the awful sinking feeling that the news on Odemwingie will not be good

My worry is that his age won't help the injury.

I can't see Lennon picking Stoke ahead of QPR so I imagine he is staying at Spurs!

Guardian...
“Stoke City had not anticipated doing anything on deadline day but Peter Odemwingie’s serious knee injury has thrown a spanner in the works,” Stuart James says. “They’re now desperately trying to bring in a winger. Aaron Lennon, the Spurs wide man, is one option. Oussama Assaidi, who was on loan from Liverpool last season, is another. Stoke had a permanent deal for Assaidi agreed with Liverpool but I’m told the player’s wage demands were ridiculous and prevented it from going through. Unless Assaidi drops what he is asking for, Stoke think another loan is the only option. In other Stoke news, Jack Butland, the England Under-21 goalkeeper, will go out on loan again. They are happy for him to join a Championship club but only if he is guaranteed first-team action.”

A top player, he has to be our top of the winger targets.

I really thought he was going to be a special player when he burst into the England team ahead of the 2006 World Cup. But, overall, he's had a disappointing career. Which I suppose is why we're in with a chance of nabbing him Still, Moses and lennon on the wings! Rapid!

Stuart James ?@stuartjamesgnm 45s Sounds like Spurs preference is to sell rather than loan Lennon, which could make it hard for Stoke move to happen. Assaidi more likely.

Why would they mention Assaidi when he is left wing and Odem is right winger??

Stuart James ?@stuartjamesgnm 45sSounds like Spurs preference is to sell rather than loan Lennon, which could make it hard for Stoke move to happen. Assaidi more likely. How is that harder for us? We've hardly spent anything and if the price is good (and Lennon is happy with personal terms) then I doubt we would turn down the opportunity. Deffo a RTC signing for me.

As others have said, we are always told money is available for the right player - we've bid 7m for Assaidi, 6m for Redmond, 12m for Yarmo, so why not pay for Lennon?

We're obviously saving the cash for a rainy day.....
It does seem we're Aldi shoppers now, rather than Sainsbury's
