No Adam - disappointing. Diouf out wide? Agree about Adam, and assume Diouf out wide We could go 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1 I suppose

Not impressed. Not enough skill on the ball throughout.

Looks like a 4-4-2 with Moses and Walters out wide to me.

No Adam - disappointing. Diouf out wide? I would of thought, Walters and Moses out wide and Diouf just off Crouch?

Diouf - Walters - Moses Crouchy

The right team there. A good balance. Adam was never going to play Man City away. Bardsley half fit at RB worries me.

I'm not really sure what to think of that team to be honest but it looks like it could be square pegs in round holes and I thought those days had gone

Clearly a nothing game. So what's Hughes experimenting with here? Traditional 4-4-2 counter?

Could it be........ Diouf - Walters - Moses Crouchy That's what it will be. Walters the creative midfielder and Diouf, who can't control the ball never mind cross it out wide

The official tweet hints at: Nzonzi Whelan Diouf Walters Moses Crouch ?? Stoke City FC ? stokecity 5m #scfc Starting XI vs Man City: Begovic; Bardsley, Shawcross (c), Wilson, Pieters; Whelan, Nzonzi; Diouf, Walters, Moses; Crouch

I think it's a 4231, Moses on the left, Diouf on the right and Walters behind Crouch. But who knows. As above, it's a nothing game and early in the season so no harm in seeing what works.

I think 442 long balls up to Crouch to flick on to Diouf on the counter

Walters and Crouch.
Superb decision. Today won't be for the faint hearted.
Horses for courses. (no donkey jokes, please).

Will see how this pans out.
I think the one hope for Diouf is playing as part of a front two or a 4-4-1-1.
Really hope he's not on the wing.
