Managed to watch their games against Real this week and despite losing some key players they still play with no fear and got right in Real's faces and deserved to win over the two games , a great example for smaller clubs who want to do well without massive money

They were pretty bust a couple of years ago and have only spent what they have brought in , still same as a Spurs or Everton winning our league , big achievement to get above Real and Barca

Diego Simione is a cretin. Anything he's associated with is detestable to me.

Diego Simione is a cretin. Anything he's associated with is detestable to me. Yes, but he's also one of the very best managers around and will never be short of a top job. One of these days he will almost certainly emerge in England . . . . . at somewhere like Newcastle for example. Horrible bloke but top coach.

Atletico are the team of the working class in Madrid. They certainly do not enjoy all the privileges which Real have since the rind of FRanco

Fuck me, the Geordies are deluded enough, don't fuel the fire. I wouldn't be surprised to see Moyes end up at Newcastle, but if/when Simeone leaves Atletico, it'll be to another Champions League club (or his country).

It's a joke that the Spanish clubs are allowed to operate in such a way when the Germans and the Brits do not have this safety net. It is very definitely not a level playing field.
