Late on, as clubs wants better bids, and will get them if his name is banded about in the press, and then we cannot compete This is a genuine question. If a club want to generate interest in a player, couldn't they just email his availability to all the clubs who could possibly buy him? If not, why not? Seems a bit of a strange way to drum up interest, just waiting for the Daily Mail to get things going. It's like when a player asks for a transfer he loses his bonuses, but the other way around, if the club hawk his name around without him wanting it, the club would have to pay any bonuses he would be owed due to him not asking for the move

If we did sign him the pace we would have upfront would be unbelievable. I think we need players out before we would sign someone like him. At least enough to raise the transfer fee. We certainly need to get players out. But I think it is much more a case of freeing up wages rather than raising the transfer fee. Even allowing for the inevitable signing on fees, we've spent remarkably little on transfers since Hughes took over and Coates has always said that the money is there if the right player becomes available. Wages are a different matter - we HAVE to keep the wage bill within limits to comply with the Premier League's Financial Fair Play rules which allow only a modest rise in wages year on year. FFP is not a concern on wages . We have around £28 million to play with since the start of last season and a number of players have left . We may rightly be worried about profits but FFP is not the issue

Stoke under FFP and out large wage bill can only increase the wage bill by £4million a year. Which equates to around 2 players on just under £40k a year. FFP is a major problem for stoke

In 2011 he was reported to be on 1m USD, so his suggested salary is a complete nonsense, would have thought his wage demands are easily within our structure, particularly coming from where he does.

Cheers

Ian Darke ?@iandarke 9m Stoke will do very well if they get Ukraine winger Yarmolenko - real class and amazed no PL club been in for him before.
I wonder how long it'll be till West Ham or QPR are linked

With west ham being interested in crouchie and him one of our higher earners(I think) it would free up wages plus stump up a little more money to push this deal through. I'd be happy to let crouch leave to bring in this fellow. I think crouch is only going to have Sub role this season anyhow.

Quality Signing if it happens.
Hopefully the money we have saved in the last 2 transfer windows amd this one can go into one last push to bring him in. Truly see us challenging for europa league this season if transfers keep going through for the players we actually want.
Having said that, ill still be happy with top 10! ;D

I like how as soon as we're linked to a foreign player (biabiany) everyone goes mental...in reality next to knowone knows what he's like because who ever watches Parma? :S

This isn't going to happen is it, we will be gazumped by a bigger club or a club with more financial clout.
