Just wondering if assaidi's £45,000 demands a week are excessive? Based on what I was told our top earner was on it is. Our top wage (crouch) is on £45k basic with add ons taking him to £62.5k a week. Depends on whether the reports of Assaidi's wish of £45k is with or without his add ons

If the player and the club have agreed a figure, end of Its all about what deal you can negotiate at the time albeit with Stoke's wage structure then we often resort to a signing on fee to compensate for lower average wages. Id imagine £45K / £50K is top whack but that some of the bigger names got a decent sigining on fee (ie Crouch probably trousered a £1m up front)

If the player and the club have agreed a figure, end of It lets us speculate on who we could afford to bring in. Also lets us bitch about them when they play poorly, you know, he should do more if he is paid that much! winky thingee

That Assaidi wants to be in that company from the off is some cheek! He needs to earn his wages first, build in add-ons based on performances and goals, with a review at the season's end, and prove his worth.

That is a logical arrangement, but we also know agents (and some players) want to claw every cent they can from the off. I don't blame them though, if any of us had leverage to push for a higher wage without much consequence we would do the same.

If Assaidi wants 45k a week, then I would tell him to jog on. Good player yes, but still unproven for me. Scored some great goals but also had some nothing performances that were totally forgettable. Certainly shouldn't be a top earner until he can prove it consistently.

He certainly does not deserve to be on that if that is an accurate report. I'd tell him to move on, as good as he looked at times, others he was non existant. If he wanted to come and play he would not be asking that much. We can buy a better winger all round with the money we are putting up for him

Did he ask for 45k a week basic though or is that just people guessing?

I would suspect the average wage of a Premier League player is now close to 45k per week, although I have no figures to prove that. In today's football 45k is not that high, so we either accept that or stick to our principles. I'd be in favour of the latter.
