As good as Arnie is. I still believe his best work comes when he aint stuck to one position. I think the ability to switch players LW to RW from RW to false number 9, from LW to ST is what Hughes is looking at which could bamboozle the defences lining up in front of us, As i feel at least Arnie/Bojan/Diouf/Wingie can alternate between positions within a match its just making sure the others are on the same wavelength.

He gives us something different. There are very few players around with his potential, certainly at the price we got him for. Just looking at the low back lift, the confidence and overall technique he showed when scoring his goal, whets the appetite. He has a long way to go to be another Modric/Silva but he is young and seems to be a confidence player, which is normal with gifted individuals. If Hughes can turn him around it will be a major notch on his managerial stick. One thing we know already, Hughes has no problem changing playing formations and players if it's not working out, lets hope we can hit the ground running against Villa.

The goal is all over SSN now, I think we may have ourselves a genuine media darling in Bojan. Expect headlines such as: Sky sources are reporting that Bojan has just broken wind. Nobody was injured in the incident but caution is advised in the area due to a slightly toxic lingering smell of fermented chorizo. If I was a unfortunate enough to be a Vale supporter then I'd put my fingers in my ears and hum really hard during the coming season. Don't you mean Chanel No.5?

Despite scoring a goal and showing some great skills on the ball I struggle to see him in our starting 11. Hopefully he will adjust to the league and become a great player for us, but for long spells yesterday I felt he was just a passanger!

This Board is all about opinions, so sorry Rob I disagree, maybe my stream was not that good but he exceeded my expectations. I would be very surprised if Hughes doesn't start him, especially in a home match against the Villa.

This is how I feel too. I love that we look so fluid and inter-changeable and, if we can get everyone on the same wavelength, I think we can make a real impact this coming season. I think we might all have to abandon any set ideas we have about our team 'set up' and go with the flow. As long as we're organized at the back, I really like the look of what I'm seeing. We played a very good team yesterday that are well ready for their new season. Despite being behind them in terms of preparation, and having to chop and change here and there, I thought we put in a very encouraging performance.

Trying to second guess team selection has just become very difficult. Bego , Bardsley, Ryan, Huth and Pieters or Muni , fairly straightforward. You would think Odem and Arnie likewise. Probably want Diouf and Bojan in. But now running out of places. Nzonzi makes 10, but Hughes rates Ireland for good reason. Makes us very weak in midfield. We need one of Whelan or Sidwell alongside Nzonzi.
After all that rambling looks to me like
Bego Bardsley Ryan Huth Pieters/Muni Nzonzi Sidwell/Whelan MFW/Odem Bojan/Ireland Arnie Diouf

I have every confidence in Bojan and Hughes judgement and by the time the season starts I can see Bojan bursting to make an impact. It all comes down to confidence and I'm sure that this is something they'll all be working on with him. I don't think that there will be the same level of pressure at a club like Stoke than some of the others he's played for. Let's hope he can rekindle the kind of form that he produced when he first come onto the scene at Barcelona.

Hughsey's sorted him out with a nice little semi-detatched in Chell Heath. He's also been made aware of Sammy Lowe's chippy if he gets hungry. Don't panic.

Only in my opinion of course but I don't see Adam as that good at tackling, particularly without committing a foul. He is ok going forward and can and has scored some good goals, made some great passes, but he has also made some awful passes that put us in trouble and he is always going to be centre of attention for the referee (fairly or otherwise.) I genuinely believe it is time for him to move on, as much as I like him as a character. Whelan and Sidwell I see as solid tacklers who can stay back and allow Nzonzi to go forward or go forward themselves if Nzonzi stays back. We need a midfield stopper in front of the back four if we allow Bojan or Ireland that far forward.
