There will be conversations," said Hughes, "but he isn't our player and he is only on loan, so where his future lies we are not quite sure. "We need that threat, those players that make a difference in the final third. Game changers, players with an X-factor who can create things when you're not playing particularly well." Assaidi was fast-tracked back into the squad for the Cardiff trip after Hughes openly talked up the kind of danger the winger proceeded to demonstrate in the latter stages on Saturday.

I'd sign him for the right price.
Needs work on his decision making in the final third but generally done well for us overall.

Arnie, Assaidi is a perfect leftie solution, similar to the Pieters, Muniesa cover at LB

The comment that he is targeting game changers - something different - nice to hear is it not?

Perhaps he's happy Werrers, some Stokies are you know! I'd sign Assaidi providing the price isn't too high. We would still need a specialist to play on the right whereas Assaidi like Arnie is a right footer who plays best on the left in a 433. But we need a 25 man squad and Assaidi is certainly worth a place in such a squad - he is very different to most wide players in our price range.

Our evolvement is nice and steady and to hear the type of player he is targeting is good to hear £3 or £4m would be a good price. Can not see him back in the Liverpool squad now

He's very highly regarded as a matter of fact . Several coaches and ex players have gone on record to say that they rate him more highly than Victor Moses. I was talking to one Liverpool coach three days ago who told me that he was off to Stoke . He was right by the sounds of things.

Is it a question of just Rogers not seeing his ability?

I would much prefer Nathen Redman from Norwich who is more direct, Assaidi will beat a man and then doesn't know what to do next.

Redmond is indeed a prospect, but my Canary loving Brother in Law reckons he is still a raw talent, who ironically makes the wrong decision once past a man more often than not Doubt we would get him for same price as Assaidi given he is English etc, if Norwich go down Would not say no mind

The way it was described to me was that they have 'bigger fish to fry' and they could not afford to sit around and wait for things to happen . Their intention is to buy their way back into the big time and reinforce this in the close season by spending quite heavily in certain areas. This seasons success will go a long way to rubber stamping that plan.

Wonder if Pitroipa or Ince will figure on our summer list of potentials.
Pitroipa has barely figured for Rennes in the second half of the season - and neither has Ince at Palace, who never struck you as a Pulis player. Can't see him signing up for a long-term deal there.

I can definitely see Ince ending up here also FM We wanted him on a permanent last January and given our form and the football we are playing he's tailor made

I would however be very disappointed if he was the only wide player we signed this summer.

Would like Assaidi here too, but wouldn't pay more than £2-2.5M. More than that is way too much for a player that will struggle to get in our starting line-up. If we could bring in Ince too we would really have a nice pool of players to choose from for the wing positions! A right back like Brayford, Trippier or Bardsley would be nice as well. The icing of the cake would be a striker like Bony or Diouf! Exciting times ahead!

Ince and Assaidi's chances of going to/being a success at Liverpool have both gone with their progress to the title and Champions League next season. Perfect timing for us. But having said that, not sure about Ince. Can't see how he couldn't get into the Palace team or even appear much as sub if he was decent at this level. I'd prefer Assaidi as at least he won't need time to settle.

£1m I would pay, for an impact player off the bench. But not 3 or 4m if the purse strings are still going to be tighter than we would like. As well as Assa has done, he can't tackle, so that will limit the games he starts. At 3 or 4m we have more need of players in other starting positions, I reckon.
How long left on his Liverpool contract?
Anyway, hopefully The Parrot Faced Tvvat won't care how much he goes for, as he'll be too busy bathing in the glow of the early stages of sainthood on Miseryside.

For a few million (2-3 maybe) he's a great option and improves our squad.
I don't see him as a regular starter ahead of Arnie but should get enough game time with us to keep him happy.

I'd love to see us sign him, no more than 4 million but I can't see him being that expensive.
Great as cover for injuries, carries a real threat and good for competition for places, no brainer.

I noticed Arnie headed straight for Assaidi on the bench to celebrate his goal
Sign that he is a valued member of the squad. That's also important.
