Don't come on here with your ACTUAL links to interviews and what not. He keeps getting asked about Stoke, it's the only reason he mentions us. People honestly expected him to inject pace into the team in 8 seasons?? Rome wasn't built in a day you know, next folk will be saying he should have got a proper left back in as well.............

You're being silly now. The solution to the left back problem is simple! You put Jonathan Woodgate at RB and shift Marc Wilson to LB. Oh and you put Ryan Shotton in front of Woodgate on the right wing to protect him because he's hopeless at RB. PACE! PACE! PACE!

Jesus. I'd hoped that MH doing brilliantly and TP proving his ability might have led to the war being over!
What wasn't anticipated was the possibility of Palace finishing above Stoke and TP making a few on here choke on his fat one again. The fear is palpable. Get over it, it's what he does. He's like the terminator of proving people wrong.
He gave us a great platform and MH is building on that- why isn't that enough?

I agree Rob. The best scenario was Stoke improving and Palace just surviving but like I said underestimating Pulis was always a risky business!

He's like the terminator of proving people wrong. He gave us a great platform and MH is building on that- why isn't that enough? Mark Hughes is with us, doing a great job having kept the best aspects of the previous regime and added some much needed extra dimensions and altered our general thrust. He's successfully navigated a tricky transitional season, united the fanbase (well, apart from one or two ) and we are now in a great position to push on next season if we get some valuable additions in over the summer and there's an air of positivity about the place. There's no reason for any Stoke supporter to be unhappy. For those who continue to hold Tony Pulis in high regard, it's nice to see him doing well at Palace at the same time. He's doing a good job for them. He has moved on to a new club and we have moved on as a football club. If you're one of the people who allegedly doesn't care about him, then it doesn't really matter. Everyone's happy, surely? What are we fighting over again?

I don't, no. I find people refusing to recognise the last manager did an amazing job here very sad indeed. The same goes for people who won't acknowledge he's done a great job at Palace. I find people acting as if any criticism of anything he did here whatsoever has to be screechingly defended and explained away at all costs - to the extent of rewriting history - tear my own eyes out frustrating. I find people who are itching for them to finish above us - and there are a few on here and on Twatter - just through the looking glass unfathomable.

He brought our squad, and made it boring. Give him time at Palace and he will do the same This is exactly what will happen.....give it a couple of seasons!!!!!!

Fair do's but this screeching you refer to, there's a definite chicken and egg situation going on there isn't there? In so much as it's knee jerk for some on both sides - for everyone trying to downplay some of the club's greatest ever achievements there's someone trying to defend the indefinsible bullshit the man comes out with sometimes. For everyone trying to make out he's done nowt remarkable at Palace, there's someone who seemingly feels obliged to argue that the last two seasons here were hunky dory and there was nothing to be unhappy about - and what there was wasn't his fault. It is possible to see both sides. Some don't want to. I swear it's become almost a reflex action where they feel obliged to defend their entrenched positions even if they don't deep down, believe them that fervently.

I got royally pissed off with an impatient unsupportive mob last season. But reading through this TP thread {another} you seem to be on the one hand advocating that people move on and forget all things Tone {with your version of events as gospel}, whilst on the other hand needlessly fanning the flames of an imaginary fire. You portray an image of neutrality whilst peddling the unsubstantiated terminal decline diatribe... I don't run away from reasoned debate... but as far as TP goes, your debate ain't reasonable. It's old ground, but you're not daft so why get so irked about nowt. Stinks of a tiresome need for you to be proved right... but that won't happen... He didn't send us down, he's moved on...

It's interesting following the CPFC message board. They are loving TP at the moment, obviously, but there were moments earlier in the season that he managed to split the board in his usual manner. But even if they disagree, they are a lot more polite to each other than us; it's more like an Oxford Union Debate than the bunfights you get on here.

Sorry if referred to elsewhere but this raised my eyebrows when I read it - Asked about the more expansive style of play he has engendered at Palace compared to the perception of his previous approach Pulis replied : " This is a different team to what I had at Stoke, with different strengths, I think we're an exciting team." Interesting or what ? A valid point for a team you inherit. Bit he had 10's of millions and 7 years at Stoke. He built our team so can't complain if he built something ugly

I can't be arsed to get into all this repetitive stuff again as my view is that Tone isn't our manager anymore so who cares? Clearly he's done a very good job to get them to safety though and deserves great credit.
What I do find surprising is that up until their (admittedly) excellent last five games weren't Palace being accused of being dour and typically Pulis?
In fact I thought quite a number of their fans weren't very happy at all 6 or 7 games ago.
Maybe I'm wrong?
