Arnie is finding his feet in the premiership and is proving a influence on the team IMO he is getting better and better only a matter of time before other teams in the league notice and maybe try and sign him. How much do you think he is worth? (Not that I would sell him)

If we do push on next season and are a more promising and successful team then I get the feeling he will want to be part of it.
The club are helping him integrate into the Premiership set up and he is meriting a starting position for each game.
If / when we add to the squad , just like everyone else he will need to prove his worth,
He seems to thrive on playing all of the time and surely would not be in this positions at one of the top 4 / 5 clubs.
Let's continue to show him that he is one of our favourites!

Why would we want to keep him? I thought he was a show pony that offers nothing? Or just plain shit? Or too lazy? ...

I amazed we've kept hold of so many of our players if you think a couple of decent games results in us struggling to keep hold of a player.

I am surprised he cost only £2.5 million, I don't think I would of been fussed us paying 5/6 for him. I think next season will be the one for him, however he loves it here, we gave him his opportunity, he doesn't seem the type to just fuck off.

(Not that I would sell him) played well last few games but needs to find consistency to become a top player, has all the ability you require, just have this feeling he could implode at anytime though. Keep ye head down arnie and work aaaaarrrrrd

I'm not sure what type he is to be honest and I doubt you do. He's settling down now and performing as we hoped he would but let's not think we're going to lose all of our better players. We're a work in progress and next season promises even more.

He has improved....but he probably needs to do this for more than a handful of games before the big clubs become too excited just yet.
The big clubs will be looking for a player that will be capable of playing in the Champions League, against your Barcelona/Real Madrid/Bayern Munich etc..... to be fair to Arnie, has he shown this yet? Worth chucking 15/20 million at? Probably not.
I am sure even if he goes on sets the world on fire over the next season he will be a Stoke player for a couple of years yet.
I can only see an Everton / Tottenham / Newcastle that are that much bigger/better/higher profile that he could fit in for outside the top 4, and Everton and Tottenham don't throw that sort of money around too often.

He's improved, but I hardly think the big clubs will be queuing up to sign him. Agreed... but only at the moment. You have to remember, Arnie spent first half of the season struggling to get into games. Apart from Arsenal away and Man Utd away, I can't think of any games in the first half of the season where Arnie really stood out as a class players. Flashes of brilliance in a sea of mediocrity. However, he's turned the corner and for me and he's playing very well. His recent form has been truly outstanding but no big team will want him until he can do that for a full season.

Will he start to think hes too big for Stoke? This is the guy who had 'champions league winner' printed on his boots despite not playing for Inter. Hopefully hes grown up a bit now and realises he can have a good future here, but he has got a reputation for being full of himself.

At some point we will start to lose certain players to bigger clubs. Ironically this will means we are doing really well, playing well and catching the eye of the richer clubs.
Not really had that problem until now, but it is the price of success - hence why the academy is so important in years to come

If he goes to a "top" club would he be happy being a squad player where he's unnoticed?. Or would he prefer to stay at a club where he's the first name on the team sheet and is considered the star of the show.

I cannot believe anyone is talking like this. We want to improve, and the only way to do that is to keep hold of your best players! I,ve, and a lot of others have waited a long time to be able to compete against the so called better teams, on a more even footing, and now we are on the way IMHO. We must keep hold of the likes of Arnie and also improve the squad in other positions to be able to carry the fight to the other teams.

Hes not the finished article yet, but yea i would imagine his profile is in few folders. I've noticed him though, a few times now, nonchalantly strolling, head down, his back to the action, as though he's 'done his bit'. He'd better lose that attitude pretty rapid. Apart from that, a very exciting player, a real buzz when he gets the ball and has the ability to turn a game. He wont be going anywhere if Hughes has his way.

This summer yes, if he continues to improve at the rate he is doing, maybe 2 years down the line we will turn quite a profit for him!

I thought Arnie showed some wonderful skills at Fulham. When I saw he could do that AND he that has the physical attributes too I began to think he could really be something.

If this time next year top European teams are after him that will mean he's had a succesful season so good luck to him. If that means we flog him for £10m then so be it, it's the new Coates model, scout them improve them, sell them on for a profit and replace them before starting the process again. I'm comfortable with that it's the only way of being self sufficient and balancing the books......

So why would he move, unless it's to leave the Prem !
