Really surprised at this one. After Odemwingie's attitude when he was back at West Brom, I was amazed when Cardiff wanted him. Now, I'm even more amazed that we want him. With all due respect, he's exactly the player that we don't need. An ageing striker with a nasty attitude.

An ageing striker with a nasty attitude. I think that just about sums it up!

FFS - this one is perplexing!
Maybe it's simply a case of no one, at a price we can afford, being available so we have to replace Jones with whatever we can.
I reckon our financial situation is causing us much bigger problems than most of us realise.

So we're not even getting any money for Jones? With all due respect, however shit Kenwyne is, I'm not convinced that trading him for a 32 year old is a clever idea. All we can expect out of this guy is what, a season? Maybe two? Good thinking batman

Who started this transfer anyway? Did Cardiff approach us first about KJ or us them about PO?

All we can expect out of this guy is what, a season? Maybe two? Good thinking batman You would have thought that we could have taken £1/2 million off Cardiff. That gives us a little extra in the transfer war chest and frees up £40k per week of wages. Why take Odemwingie as part of the deal?

At the end of the day is it better to have a Kenwyne who we won't play or an ageing forward who knows where the net is at this level and May chip in with a few vital goals or assists in the place of pennant from the bench? I'm prepared to give it a go as we need something to inject a different threat.

News down here that it's a straight swap - no money involved. I wouldn't with Jones on any club mate, the guy is an absolute fucking crook. If you get six good games out of hi, you'll be lucky. The most frustratingly shit, lightweight footballer I've seen in a long time. And that myth about him being unstoppable on his day is just that. Everything Sunderland said about him is true and I can't see the fucking fraud changing now.

Give the bloke a fucking chance FFS It's embarrassing reading all this before he's even pulled the shirt on No, I totally agree. While we're at it, let's sign Alan Shearer, stop having a go, he's only 43, give him a chance FFS! Werrington, as fans, I think we're allowed to comment on transfers and this one is just bizarre. When the deal is agreed and finalized, THEN, we'll give the bloke a fucking chance, until then...

We can't go *that* far wrong if it's only for the rest of this season and next.
In many ways, we were lucky to find anyone to take Jones on.
So, in one way, you could view it as a free for someone we were more than willing to gamble £2.5m on 6 months ago.
It's got to be doubtful Wingie will have much of an impact. And with all the concern over our wage bill for financial fair play reasons, it is a slight surprise we're still prepared to chuck £30,000-a-week at him after his inability to make a mark at Cardiff.
Don't know about what it says about how far down our list we are, but it's probably fair to say we can't be particularly near the top

Give the bloke a fucking chance FFS It's embarrassing reading all this before he's even pulled the shirt on Werrington -> normally I agree, but this is yet another mercenary signing that will further disrupt the dressing room, he is also into his 30's, a poor record last 12 months and is clearly after the cash!, terrible developments for the future of Stoke In sorry we are heading one way with these sort of signings!

Yeh but we've also a young kiddie up front as well. Experience to help keep us up.
Proof will come if / when he plays and scores. All those period pants moaning will be logging off. If he doesn't score or do well they'll be on here saying I told you so.
Point being until then, grid it and relax.

I expect he will play the odd 1 or 2 good games for Cardiff, but that'll be it 1 or 2. Most matches he won't be bothered to make the effort. I'm prepared to wait and see how the Od1 performs, maybe he'll fit in. Maybe there'll be few dressing room dust ups. Maybe he will stir others into action; let's wait and see.

What makes you think that? PO didn't need a transfer for the cash, his contract would have been the same whether he's at Cardiff or Stoke. Hopefully PO will bang a few important goals in before the end of the season and keep us up, he can sit on the bench with his feet up all next season for all I care if he does the business over the next few months. I'll be glad to see the back of Jones, the move may revitalise him for a few games but he'll be back to his lazy useless self soon enough. It's a real waste because the guy has all the physical attributes to be a top striker but he'll never be one due to his terrible attitude.
