If it's that bad I can count on you to mindlessly defend it to the hilt, I trust? It does seem a favoured hobby of yours after all. 1 each i settle for that good old binary We should have had a bet on it!

The Chelsea game was excellent momo On the pitch dictates the crowd Pulis name was never sung loudly at the brit. One occasion stands out in my head alone and that's the villa game when he joined us at half time , And deservedly too .

Wankstains getting precious over a banner or three. Wankstains believed they were in the majority but I guess the shit they're creating over a banner suggests that they knew they were in the minority really have gone all upsetting knicker wetting, Hughes out. Hughes out......oh dear Taz I don't care if you have a season ticket or not mate you want Palace to win tomorrow ......of that I'm certain You will of course deny it Hughes 1 Pulis 1 I'd take that now.

Pulis name was never sung loudly at the brit. One occasion stands out in my head alone and that's the villa game when he joined us at half time , And deservedly too . Once in ten years, that's a sad indictment of our 2nd best ever manager, Pulis had to leave the club to be truly loved And with the greatest respect to him and his late mother, it took that great night; and it was; for him to be cheered by the crowd

Fact..........Tony Pullis and his team got my, beloved club, back into the highest level league in English football, and kept us in there, but even more than that what he did for local charities in this area was an inspiration.(Didn't he cycle the length of the country for the Donna Louise TRust and climb Kilimjaro with Rory???) Amazing..... Regardless of the so called footy he played, we are still up there and he comes across as a really decent bloke, I met him several times and he should be rewarded by a good reception tomorrow, I only wish upon wish I could make it....

Huge chorus of 'one Tony Pulis' in the away end followed by a big Mark Hughes song. I think I may have worked out which side is the petty minority here.

Lots of praise for the reception Stoke fans have given him (and for the banners). All in agreement that it was a classy gesture. Stoke fans sound up for it too - which was always going to be the case. Not sure what all the hysteria was about.

Why not show our appreciation?
We are no longer roughing it in the lower leagues. Country's all over the world know not just SCFC but Stoke-On-Trent too.
If you dunna like it then that's your issue and obviously don't see the positives that one man from Newport has done for this city and this club.

Strangely, Meggsy is right and you're not. Nobody knows that Stoke was the home of Wedgwood, Spode and Minton any more, but many people abroad know of Stoke City and Tony Pulis.
I personally think that showing support for an opposition manager, no matter who he is, is unacceptable behaviour, but football support seems to have changed over the years into something I don't quite recognise or like. He manages a close rival, so fuck them and him would have been the only normal attitude in the day.

BBC 5live and many opposing fans on twitter only, I admit (it was 10 minutes after the event when I posted, you'll notice). I know Soccer Saturday showed pictures of the Stokies too - but I admit to not knowing what they said. TP's reception has been widely reported today, have you heard anything to the contrary?

No, I should have started my post with "Out of interest...". I was watching on beIn Sports in the Middle East so the TP/Palace/Stoke thing was lost on them. The banners irk me somewhat but that's for another thread.

I do think the reception/the banners have shown Stoke fans in a hugely positive light today - I think we pitched it just right, with the rousing pro-Hughes song that immediately followed. I feared it could go horribly wrong.

All done and dusted within a couple of minutes (if not less!) What was all the 14 pages of debate about again?

And now, in good old gypsy fashion, we should now have a ritual burning of that banner by the Sir Stan, and get on with supporting our football club.
