I really hope we can make a professional job of this and get the game won in 90 minutes, we could very much do without a midweek replay away at Leicester sandwiched in between Liverpool and Crystal Palace, that'd be three games in six days.

All of the above will get an outing but I'm not sure which will come first. Anyway, lets hope they finish the match with a hearty rendition of "3-0 and you still don't sing" ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/kwfoKwtHI0jglJZ4qZf6.gif)

I work with a few Leicester fans and they are well up for this game.
If we don't sell 15,000 tickets we don't deserve Peter Coates.

Leicester are hardly a big draw and money's tight for some folk this time of year.
The FA Cup isn't the big deal in the early rounds it used to be, and we won't be the only Prem club with lots of empty seats.
We'll get about 18,000 in I reckon.

I know there are people on here who will slap me down for this, but they'd be wrong [ ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/kwfoKwtHI0jglJZ4qZf6.gif) ] One of the reasons for our empty seats every week this season, and which is even worse for cup games, is Stoke's idiotic policy of not selling tickets. They have made it too hard for people to obtain tickets for the odd game. A mate of mine asked if I'd be able to get 5 tickets for the Leicester game, it's his birthday & he fancies some pre & post-match atmosphere in the Sutherland Arms and others. I explained to him that as 3 of his party, including him, were over 65 (we're a bunch of old farts) and one, the grandson of one of his mates, was under 11, I would need copies of the driving licences of the over-65s and the birth certificate of the under 11. I would also need the address & date of birth of the one person that was neither over 65 or under 11. Needless to say they thought I'd gone bloody crackers but I had to explain that it was Stoke City FC that is mad, not me. Having obtained copies of all this information I turned up at the ticket office on Monday of this week and took my place in a very small queue where I waited three quarters of an hour to reach the window. Why the long wait? The fact that only 2 windows were open didn't help but the principle reason was that almost every one of the half a dozen punters in front of me wanted tickets for non-members and they were stuggling to provide the necessary information. At least 2 of them walked away without purchasing any tickets muttering that they wouldn't be coming back, I hope they didn't mean it but they probably did. The others eventually got their tickets but not before they, and the poor guys serving them (who are not to blame for the policy) had gone through an unbelievable amount of grief to get the new members' information into the system. When I eventually reached the window my transaction to buy 5 tickets at a total cost of £35 took almost 20 minutes, as the queue built up behind. Not many people can be bothered, and even less have the time, to go to the trouble that I went to on Monday (and in gathering all the necessary information beforehand) and that is why I am absolutely certain that this mad policy is directly responsible for thousands of empty seats every week and if Peter Coates realised what was going on heads would roll.

a prem club v a championship club is not a big draw anymore.fair play to Leicester but I would like to think if the roles were reversed then we would sell out too. anyway I will be there on sat but I wonder how many posters on here saying it will be a piss poor effort will actually be at the game?

Ball ache is the understatement of the year. Stoke's problems are identical to every other club's problems but if any of them have made it as difficult for new/occasional/one-off spectators to purchase access to a match they are also bloody crackers. It is an absolute nonsense for any business to turn away paying customers yet this is exactly what Stoke are doing at the moment.

I wanted to buy two tickets on line (myself and mate both season holders), could only purchase 1. It took a trip to the ground to get the tickets.
My experience and that of others I know have not found it an easy task to spend money. Stuff may be our stance next time!!

Stoke are still advertising "tickets for sale", which probably contravenes the Trades Descriptions Act given that they don't actually sell tickets to home supporters any more.

I used to see threads slagging off the ticket office and system for buying tickets and I assumed the stories were greatly exaggerated. However! I recently (before the Man U game) tried to buy a ticket for the Villa game for my 83 year old dad. I am a season ticket holder where as he rarely goes nowadays. There were two guys working in the ticket office an older guy with glasses on and the grey haired guy (who I have always found exceptionally helpful) unfortunately I got the first guy! I told him I wanted an extra ticket for the Villa game and he said is the other person registered? I said no he isn't but I have got him tickets before. He then asked his name and address which I gave to him and he told me he wasn't registered and he couldn't sell me a ticket for him. I said well I'll register him now and he told me no sorry he'll have to come down himself to do that! I said that's mad and there's no way he could get here to do that. He then said well sorry but I can't sell you a ticket then. I then gave him a gob full of 'no wonder we never sell out with pricks like you 'selling' tickets, and left. Total and utter amateur madness

Let's just hope we can send them back down the M1 with their tails (brushes?) firmly wedged between their legs! No doubt if that's the case it will be "well, premier league teams SHOULD beat Championship teams, and we are saving ourselves for promotion etc" Bit of a "no win" game for us but, oh my, do I hope we DO win...even if a replay would be quite a short journey ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/0m0lbCuTEBzaRn6f8QaM.gif)

How about a rendition of... Our ground's the perfect size Our club is on the rise In fact if you take a look In the statistics book Study our average crowd In relation to size of ground You will see week on week 97% of 27,743 capacity There's 80,000+ more folk In Leicester than Stoke And this game's your cup final For us it appears quite dull Those who are ticketless Walked away in disgust The new system that's in place Is arguably a disgrace Loads of folk tried and failed Failed more times than the Vale The system in place these days Means more fans will stay away Catchy yeah? Who's with me? Just me? I'll bring me guitar ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/3zptH1h3SvRnVmRGLyMP.gif)
