There are too many people that seem to get disappointed at the wrong times. I'm more bothered about Villa on Saturday.
I thought we looked pretty good until they scored.
I thought we should possibly have been more direct in the second half but until they scored but apart from that we were well in the game.

It's true that most of the comments (mine included) are pure frustration and the league is absolutely the right priority. Where I disagree is that we were ever, at any point, GOOD last night. I don't think we will ever take on a poorer Manchester United team than we did last night (even allowing for the conditions). True we were 'in the game' but created next to nothing and didn't put one shot on target in 90 minutes. Our first thought, every time we were in possession, was to turn around and play the ball backwards (even when we were attacking). We do tend to go overboard and I'm far from suicidal about our prospects this season but it really was a very, very poor performance against pretty mediocre opponents on the night.

Then again, wouldn't that be a management mistake in itself, like I said I understand why they got rid of Pulis but to get rid of him when there is a dearth of suitable candidates available is the kind of error that posters on here have highlighted in regards to the Spurs and West Brom sackings. I don't think it's that simple. We were stagnating under Tone and his transfer policy was unsustainable. The list of replacement wasn't great but it's daft to write Hughes off as a joke on the back of one bad job.

Nearly every club's transfer policy is unsustainable.
Stop spending the money and sooner or later you will go down.
Even since we've been in the Prem there must be over a dozen that have fallen out of it and most as result of them being unable to compete financially.

Even since we've been in the Prem there must be over a dozen that have fallen out of it and most as result of them being unable to compete financially. Stop spending it altogether and you definitely will. There's got to be a middle way between what we were doing and that though surely? Clearly we haven't found that yet but it looks like that's the intention.

From people judging him purely on QPR maybe.

Just remember Man City in the FA Cup last season and last night was a dream really. It was warmer, we at least missed a great opportunity last night and a good number of us missed a bit of the game last night, I got there ridiculously early for the Man City. So every cloud and all that!

I am so glad I couldn't make it to this game.
I would have been seething.
And for those who think I am lacking commitment.
If they ( team and management) can't be bothered why should I? Works both ways.

I don't think it was a case of not being bothered last night. We lost down to two moments of switching off, the team tried all night, they just weren't good enough.

Bit knee jerk mate? There's been some good mixed in with the shit and whoever came in was going to have a job on their hands? The other thing is who else could we have brought in? Poyet certainly isn't pulling up any trees at Sunderland. Benitez was always laughable Likewise Martinez After that I'm struggling to think who else we thought was in the running.. Why would Martinez have been laughable?. He's always been involved in relegation battles and if you were to tell him that there are millions available to spend and that we don't need to sell anyone then I'm pretty sure he'd have given it great consideration. To suggest Martinez wasn't achievable is quite frankly that, laughable.
