Those rankings are always such bs. No team from North America should be ranked above the top six from South America.

Played 17 games and only 20 years old.
If he was English the press would be comparing him to Ronaldo or Messi.

Those rankings are always such bs. No team from North America should be ranked above the top six from South America. Why? The South American teams are much better. For example, Chile beat England 2-0 at Wembley, yet they are ranked 15th. Ecuador has been stellar in qualifying, winning every game at home except a 1-1 draw against Argentina, and finished above sixth ranked Uruguay in the qualifying group. Ecuador is ranked 23th. I follow the US very closely and they are nowhere near as good as these teams, or a lot of the teams from Europe (France, Ukraine, Russia, Sweden, Czech Republic) that are ranked much lower than the US. The US gets higher rankings than we deserve because we play in CONCACAF, which can't hold a candle to the level of competition in CONMEBOL or Europe. I also think a motivation for higher rankings when it comes to teams like the US and England is the amount of exposure for, (and the money to be had when,) big economic powers have higher rankings. Especially in the run-up to the World Cup.

It's a very simple way of looking at it and that isn't the criteria but there is a very solid point to be made with this IMO.
Still, what will be, will be. We can have no complaints after sweet talking the FA into the Brek Shea deal, no doubt spelling out how good he was going to be and then not using him. No doubt he's also been available for loan with no/few takers at Championship level.
It's no wonder they've looked at a lad with lesser caps and suchlike and given us the finger, on top of all of this White Elephant nonsense with Greg Dyke.
