Our defense is being found out massively without the two banks of four protecting as they did under Pulis.Huth and Shawcross are not a good pair now as they are two slow and cumbersome as a pair. Most pairings have a quicker one out of the two central defenders. The fullbacks and our wide men are not close enough to stop crosses continually coming in ,that is criminal as thats down to desire. As for the midfield they are so slow and also lack desire and people run past and off them and then find themselves up against Shawx and Huth who again turned or outpaced.VERY WORRYING.

Agree and it's very worrying. The first thing I would try is putting Wilson at right back and Cameron centre midfield. I would also move Arnautovic into the central attacking midfield role. We are to vulnerable with him in front of Pieters.

They are under pressure all the time because neither of the fullbacks stop the opposition from crossing. They have more crosses to deal with than other central pairings.

A massive bug bear of mine from the previous regime that hasn't been corrected. Why oh why we don't stop the cross at source, or even attempt to stop the cross to make it rushed...and hopefully poor enough to deal with easily...I have no idea. Basics!

Top defenders don't become bollocks defenders overnight. The system is completely unsuitable for the personnel we have and the manager seems unwilling or unable to adapt.

Along with marking properly from corners I think stopping crosses has become a thing of the past for most teams these days, they just let their centre backs deal with the cross when it comes in. We need to look at the defence and as much as I love Huthy, I think he has looked the most uncomfortable with the new passing style. He has to take two or three touches to get the ball under control. The problem is we don't have anyone to come in unless Muniesa is ready. I've not seen him play yet so can't comment on that.

Are them defenders being found out or the system that leaves them exposed!

There is nothing wrong with the desire of our centre halves whatsoever but they are exposed by full-backs who don't want to stop crosses coming into the box. Pieters is slightly less appalling than Cameron in this regard, but after a decent start to the season, Cameron is back to his hopeless best. What the fuck he was doing on their 3rd goal today god only knows.
