As much as I would love to see us taker points off Man ure, Arseole and the crew I do actuaklly think it is a good idea to field the strongest team against teams like wigwambam and blunderland

I think it would be nigh on impossible for any manager, to try to field a 'weaker' team against any of the top four clubs. The players would go mad if they couldn't play in those. I think that the fixtures computer can be instructed to prioritise games though.

Assuming we win promotion, after 23 years away from the top flight, I would go the fuck off if we approached next season with an attitude like that. We have endured 23 years of torture and misery, paitiently waiting for our chance to be back up there mixing it with the big boys, so why the fuck would we want to field a weakened side for the games we have been dreaming about for all these years. We haven't been dreaminf of Reading, Wigan, Fulham, Bolton or any of the other teams in the Premiership that are no bigger than Stoke. We have been dreaming of Man U, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Everton, Villa, Spurs ..... these are the games that dreams are made of, and anyone who thinks that we have waited 23 fucking years to see us put out a weakened side needs to be marched into the centre-circle at the Brit, 5 minutes before kick off when we play the shit next season, and shot.
GOOOOOAAAAAARN STOKE!

This is purely hypothetical in Charlton's case, is it not?

Absolutely right Stateside - for christ's sake, there's only 38 games, why does anyone need to put a weakened side out. Playing in the prem isn't about having a few competitive games & some exhibition matches against the so-called big clubs - it's about winning as many games as poss, no matter who the opposition. What's the point of being there otherwise?

Have some Karma Stateside. Counting cocka-do-dals aside for a moment, ANY side we put out would be a weakened side compared to the spending power of the top ten or so in the Prem. What utter tosh
