I wonder what Mr Coates' feelings will be if we go up? Will he be like Mr Burns cackling that his shrewd investments will be paid back many times? Will he wonder why he didnt do this years ago and "speculate to accumulate"? Will he feel vindicated in re-appointing Pullis as manager when there seemed to be almost universal emnity against their "axis of evil". Will he be proud to see Stoke take their place in the top flight? Will he want to try and ensure that they stay there? Has the journey of this incredible season left an imprint on him, or is it another business decision, viewed with cold hearted dis-passion? What will be the reaction should he be on the top of the bus going around the city should we do it? What will be the reaction of the fans, will it be a case of all is forgiven?

i also wonder if he will offer pulis a longer contract.
Am i right in thinking that he is just on a year by year contract?
surely he would want to keep his long term prospects long term. i mean, shawcross, lawrence, fuller etc....
wouldnt it make sense for them to do the same to pulis ;D

I thought Pulis was on a 12 month rolling contract..but could be wrong...
With regards to Peter Coates, I would like to thank him for his investment, from which we are all now benifitting. I had some doubts during the first half of the season, when little investment seemed to be made, however during that time Pulis did a great job in getting us into the top 6. The second half of the season has been a different picture though, Coates has shown great faith and bankrolled the club, and look where we are now! Well done to all the Stoke team at the Brit (including all the backroom staff) let's just move onwards and upwards! Gooooaaannn Stoke!!!

This season we couldn't have asked for any more from a chairman, he has backed the manager to the hilt and must have taken a hit in the pocket. There's only one Peter Coates

You have to commend him.
This time he's put his money where his mouth is.
And hopefully we'll all be reaping the benefits tomorrow afternoon ;D

I think he will have gone a long way towards righting the wrongs of the past. To fully achieve that, I think stoke need to stay up next season in the prem, which of course will need another big outlay from Mr Coates, or will he just take the cash and run????
I think personally not, I honestly think he is a changed man. Let's all hope i'm right!!!!

- HE WASNT SKINT BEFORE!
OK he has far more resources now however I dont think its unfair to suggest his agenda was different in the past.
still he's putting his money where his mouth is now.

I agree, I think the end result is what we are all interested in, and he does seem to have dipped into the pocket this year, and last to be honest. At last we seem to be heading in the right direction. When is the shirt sponsorship deal up for renewal? Bet 365 on the shirts???

The real test will be if we do not make it (the optimistic person that I am is finding it difficult to contemplate that scenario) what he does next season. Is he prepared to continue to back the club for another push. After all, his plan was to get there in 3 seasons not 2 (not that he will be complaining I am sure - and there might even be a cheer from Iceland).
