A we're now on the brink of a new era and chapter in the fortunes of SCFC I think that we all agree that we need to express a debt of gratitude to TP, Coates and backroom staff of the Britannia for the fantastic job they've done all season. But.... is there room for sentimentality when we're about to face probably the most challenging period in our history? For all his strengths, TP has had absolutely no experience at the top level, he doesn't like foreign players, he's stubborn, some of his purchases are questionable and his style of play is easily countered by slick, fast, passing teams. Can we trust him to keep us up? Don't we need someone in the management team with Premiership experience? Most pundits seem to regard our promotion as a fairly pointless exercise. I just hope that the word "pointless" doesn't turn out to be prophetic.

So effectively a Manager with Premiership experience and presumably to fit the logic, who has never been relegated from it. Let's see....narrows down the field a bit doesn't it! ??

We all know that he's a fire fighter manager and in my mind he'll keep us up, but barely. I had many a doubt about him being able to take us up, but if he manages that I'll be 100% behind him because I reckon he'll just about do it.

i believe pulis could, but lets get there first. however, have you ever thought that stoke could certainly match some sides in the premiership? just look at how we outplayed newcastle at the brit and how other championship teams have knocked prem teams out of the cups this season? is the gap really as big as people suggest. i know derby have been wank, but they really made shite signings. sunderland have done ok and birmingham were going ok til the last few weeks. there are teams in that division that we could take points off like wigan, sunderland, reading, bolton, middlesborough, west ham plus any teams who go up with us.

I am not Pulis' biggest fan (although I will give credit where credit's due and have his children IF he gets us there!) but even I have to admit that I think if Pulis is suited to something then it would have to be premiership survival. He loves being the under dog and there is no bigger challenge than keeping the new boys up. He would be ideal for season 1; whether he would be capable of pushing on after that is another matter.
