Injuries apart only one decision to be made and that's Palacios or Muniesa to play alongside NZonzi I'd go for ............................Bego............................ GCam.........Huth...........Ryan............Eric ................Palacios......NZonzi.................. ...Arno................Ireland............Assaidi.... ..........................Crouch........................... I'm all for dropping players who aren't performing but I do believe this is our best lineup now and one one we should persevere with. I do think with games under there belt we have a good side there. Lots of attacking threat from midfield. Please no more Walters or Wilson not even as sub options. Until they can play a full 90 I'd go with sub options of Ethers > Assaidi Muniesa > Palacios Pennant > Arno Adam > Ireland KJ > Crouch That's The Team!

I'll be very disappointed if Muniesa isn't at least on the bench on Saturday.

If everyone's fit, the side picks itself apart from the question of whether Assaidi did well enough to convince Hughes he's worthy of a starting place ahead of Walters... Bego Cameron - Shawcross - Huth - Pieters Palacios - N'Zonzi Walters/Assaidi - Ireland - Arnautovic Crouch

Bego Cameron - Shawcross - Huth - Pieters Palacios - N'Zonzi Walters/Assaidi - Ireland - Arnautovic Crouch It should be more a case of what has Walters done to Justify a starting place ahead of Assaidi. I just don't understand what. I fear however that come Saturday hell be starting again. I think bar the Norwich game we've done fine this season but Hughes does seem to have this huge blindspot re Walters.

I would be tempted to consider Muniesa instead of Palacios - I think that he could help to support and plug a gap that may be appearing in our defence. Cameron and Pieters could still support our attack on the wings but would have a bit more cover.
N'Zonzi and Ireland in front of them, a bit more work for N'Zonzi maybe, but staying in a more attacking role. I would start Assaidi but definitely have Walters on the bench
Other considerations include the number of yellow cards that are mounting up. It would be a shame to lose Shawcross or Huth for our Cup game in December (indeed for any game) some disciplined defending needed here..
MH is well paid to do his job, we all have opinions, but at the end of the day we must remain confident that he will always choose the best fit team to get a win.

Top of the list is Charlie Adam, with a goal to his name. Surely worthy of a place on the bench? www.stokecityfc.com/stats/player-stats/

Hughes will be concerned that Arnautovic, Ireland and Palacios are all not at peak fitness and wouldn't want another starter he might have to bring off (Assaidi played 120 minutes on Tuesday).

I would go for a 4,4,2 of Bego Cameron Huth Shawcross Pieters Pennant palacios Ireland Assadi Arnie Crouch Subs Wilko N'Zonzi Adam Tommy Jones Walters Shea

Arnautovic has got to play on the left though. Assaidi is a decent crosser of the ball, and right footed. Put him on the right.
Other than that, I fully agree with your starting XI, Cobbs.

Not saying I want Walters to start, just that Hughes will choose between him and Assaidi. For the record, I'm also a big fan of proper wingers and would love to see Assaidi and Pennant at full fitness terrifying full backs asap.

Begovic Cameron Shawcross Huth Pieters N'Zonzi Muniesa Arnautovic Ireland Assaidi Crouch We have a winner. Looks a good well balanced side to me , I was impressed with Assaidi on Tuesday I thought he made some excellent runs through the middle as well, unfortunately no one gave him the ball when he did . It is a long time since I have seen a Stoke player make such intelligent runs.I was also very impressed with Muniessa, I would like to think he could play the defensive midfield role he seems a very tidy player.

i am even boring myself in defending Jon now, so i'll move on, after going last night though its a shame we haven't got competition for Huth's centre half spot. I don't think you can compare an off night for Huthy (who was an injury doubt if you've forgotten?) with Jon's form in wide areas. Arnie will obviously start and to me Assaidi is infinitely more effective on the flank than Jon is. Agree!

Has Hughsey played the same eleven two games running yet? Don't think he has, we need to get a settled team as soon as possible.

We seem to have been pushing Ireland further forward and playing 4-2-3-1 in recent weeks, which seems to have worked in terms of providing us with a bit more goal threat.
If Crouch has men around him and is in-form, then he has to get the nod to start up-front. The 3 just has to be Arnie/Ireland/Assaidi. In fact the team pretty much picks itself, with the only question mark being who starts alongside N'Zonzi as the other midfielder.
I think there's a case for any of Palacios, Whelan or Muniesa to start and could live with any one of those three being picked.

GK- Begovic RB- Arnautovic CB- Arnautovic CB- Arnautovic LB- Arnautovic CM- Nzonzi CM- Arnautovic RM- Assaidi LM- Arnautovic ST- Arnautovic ST- Arnautovic
That's the team I have faith in at the moment.
