It's not every day Stoke win a penalty competition

I can't remember the last time we lost one!
A lie actually (remembered it mid-sentence), Rochdale, first season in the Prem?
And a penalty shoot-out has provided me with one of my best ever Stoke moments. The moment Lewis Buxton stepped up to take one against Reading?? and the 9000ish Stoke fans groaning in unison as they knew what was coming. It wasn't good for the lad's confidence but it was funny. Buxton then proceeded to add another satellite into space.

Remember Stoke vs Spurs? League cup, when we first signed Crouch. It was technically his first goal for us www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/148934937-6 on penalties Now that was bloody tense! "Jon Walters missed when one-on-one with Spurs keeper Heurelho Gomes in extra time before the drama of penalties. " Even in 2011

Can we ask Southampton to just play penalties this weekend instead of a whole game?

Can we ask Southampton to just play penalties this weekend instead of a whole game? I'm normally the world's most pessimistic man but I honestly think we will put those jokers to bed quite comfortably at the weekend. 3rd place, they're having a laugh

Any team is beatable in this league. We've had some crap performances sandwiched in between two relatively good performances against those two Manchester teams.

Any team is beatable in this league. We've had some crap performances sandwiched in between two relatively good performances against those two Manchester teams. That sums up my feelings exactly. I don't know whether to laugh or cry at the moment. In terms of inventiveness we are capable of producing more than we have for years and some of the goals we have scored recently have been great. We are still missing too many chances but we do seem to be moving in the right direction. The downside is that, suddenly, we are conceding far too many silly goals - worryingly, many of these are coming late in a game when we seem to have lost the ability to see a game out. The chink of light last night is that Sorro and Wilson were directly responsible for a lot of our failings and I don't expect them to be playing against Southampton. But the lack of QUALITY in depth needs addressing in January providing we can move some of the deadwood on.
