...to survive in the Premiership.? I think it has got be midfield....a real play-maker is needed. I think defence needs at least one quality player...and another striker or two depending on if Ameobi signs for us permanently or not...?

1 keeper 1 right back 2 centre backs-Riggott and Zak would do just fine imo 1 left winger 1 central midfielder 2 strikers
We'd need them aswell in the Championship imo.

We'll definately need a decent goalkeeper, two quality full backs, a defensive midfielder, a playmaker (agreeing with your 'want' mumf), a left sided wide player who can run at opposing full backs and at least two goalscorers with one being a 'fox in the box' type............apart from that we're fine!

No we don't Mumf. I have no confidence in Simmo. If You went the games You'd know what I mean! Nash is ok but is coming to the end of his career. Fulop or Basso are needed to take us forward with Simmo or Nash as back up. Ameobi I'm unsure on. He's shown us nothing but he has scored goals in the Premiership. I personally think there is better out there so no I wouldn't keep him.

Ameobis strike rate is excellent ...especially for the price we've been mentioned. He's just fell out of favour with King Kevin. The next mark or grade up is in the £10 million + price range regarding strikers.I can't see Coatesy or Pulis wanting to pay that much on one player in our first season back can you...?
I'd like to Bullard at Stoke ...I thinks he's excellent and quick too...
I've also seen worse keepers than ours in the Premiership.

We have no chance of signing Bullard and Moses. If they move Bullard will move to Newcastle/Villa/Everton and lower clubs and Moses Aresenal/Villa/Man City type clubs. Palace would want no less than 10 million for him.

How can you question Simmo- didnt we have about 9 clean sheets on the run last year with him in goal?
Its the Defence in front of him (Cort, Griff and Pugh) where the problems lie.

Nash could cope and Simmo could to a degree but on crosses this season he has been woeful. Scared the crap out of me everytime a cross came into the box. I think if we got a Basso or Fulop in they would help save 10 points which may be the difference. I think Tone will go after Fulop again. He always seems to get his man.
I agree with You about Ameobi, there just seems to be something not right with him though-he doesn't seem like he wants to be here.

So its the defences fault when he is glued to the line when a cross comes in 5 yards out? The defences fault when he drops a simple catch? Nash has the same defence he dunna drop em!

Personally i think Riggott and Shawcross are a great partnership and good enough for the Prem.
Dicko at left back is worth a try or Griff if he can get his form back.
We definitely need a good right back.
Rudolph Austin/ Diao and Delap will compete for the defensive midfield role.
Pearson and Whelan can compete for the attacking midfield spot.
We definitely need a striker to partner fullet and a left winger and maybe cover for Lawrence.
So...3 big signings needed...Right back, Left Winger and Striker and some cover at right wing and up front

Bullard and Moses are quite easily within our grasp.£7 million would get the pair...Very achievable with £45 million banked.

Villa are after Bullard. Castle were too. Moses has been linked with everyone from Man Yoo to Wigan!
Bullard is a sought after player. Bigger fish than us will sign him.

Bullard is there for the taking...he knows that he would play first team football week in week out which could not be guaranteed at any of the top six clubs.
It all depends now on how much money is made available to the manager.

Bullard will not sign for Stoke, we have no chance. Barry is rumoured to be leaving Villa to Liverpool so he'd get more of a look in. He'd also walk into the Man City midfield imo.

BayernOatcake...I remember you quite clearly advocating that Pulis would not get us promoted so I'd prefer to keep an air of modesty.

I'll bet a tenner Jimmy Bullard won't sign for Stoke before the next transfer window. And Mumf we haven't been promoted yet old son! Save the gloating for when we do! Plus I don't think I ever said that. But hey what can I remember-oh yes when he was at Plymouth You wanted them to beat Stoke to prove Stoke fans wrong.
Some fucking fan You are!

Ha HA HA...Bayern...I was a Stoke fan many years before you were a twinkle in that builders bums eye... As for the gloating ...I'll be back in a few days .
P.S...Please don't print lies and crap when you are supposed to be an intelligent person.
It only serves to dilute your desperate attempt for credibilty.

Mumf I remember You posting it so stop trying to gloss over the fact. Other posters on here remember it too. It doesn't matter that You've been a fan for longer I've never wanted Stoke to lose. You on the other hand have. It's not lies and crap its the truth. I saw the what You posted with my own eyes. In fact I thought You were a Plymouth fan to start off with. I really did.

The fact that you thought I was A PLYMOUTH fan does not bode well for someone doing a degree in geography for gods sake....does it not..?

What's geograohy got to do with it? I thought You were a Plymouth fan because You stated You wanted Plymouth to win. Is that too hard a concept to grasp? I can't remember what You said word for word it was 3 years ago. But You most defineatley wanted Plymouth to win, hence the reason I thought You were a Plymouth fan.

yeah i remember it too, it was more of a Pulis v Boskamp thing using the stoke v plymouth match as a vehicle in which to prove Pulis was better by beating us.

The manner in which I wrote the article has been taken out of context by people whose only objective is to detract from the fact that I have been proved ultimately, and unashamedly correct. I wrote that I was pleased for Tony Pulis that he had beaten a Stoke side lead by a mercinary Dutchman who in my humble opinion would not stay beyond the end of the season. I qualified this by saying that I hoped that this would ultimately prove beyond reasonable doubt that Pulis was therefore vindicated in his capability as an excellent manager and therefore show how wrong the Icelandic board were in sacking him ,based purely on the grounds of failing to attract foreign talent...which I classed as racist and also made headlines across the broadsheets for the same reasons as those comments as I made. I sincerely hope that in 30 years time that you are still as committed as I am to the Stoke cause,!!!! Rest assured If I'm still alive I will always put the clubs interests first above any manager...Pulis included. I have seen many managers come and go,Waddington onwards...I watched them all over the country and abroad...but to pick out one game as a stick to beat one person with for as long as many Pulis haters have ,is in my opinion a tad O'T'T to say the least.... I have never attempted to destroy the reputation of the club or took part in any planned protests either...which in my humble opinion is far a worse crime to commit. Neither will I be going on the Belgium trip either...I'll be here watching the football that Stoke are involved in. I do hope that this satisifies and settles this ridiculous and stupid argument once and for all. As for not going to games....Another myth perpetrated by others which in their/your wisdom is again complete nonsense and lies..SEE ILFORD DAVE for details.. It is all absolutely pathetic and beyond all sense of meaningful debate... Lets give it a rest now...please. Bayern I look forward to seeing you in 2038.....!!
