I remember thinking the same during the 84-85 season. It's not an exact comparison but I prefer to see winning football than pretty football. I am happy to ride the wave with Hughes but make no mistake this season will be as nervous as any under Pulis. If we survive then I am sure we will come out the other side a stronger team. If we get relegated I can handle it. I am not a massive fan of the Premier League..football is all about emotion and you get that in any division..so relegation holds no fear. I do think we will stay up though...comfortably if we can get a good striker in Jan. Gordon Bennett mate we never played well at all that season we were awful Ok..ignore the "we played so well" bit and consider the "we deserved something". The points we gained in 84-85 was not a fair reflection of our opportunities. We were shafted a few times up to Jan and eventually our heads dropped..from Feb onwards if we went a goal down our confidence was shot. Not winning becomes contagious. This is the point I was trying to make in a roundabout way.

Rather have that than Wilson as our left winger, boy. Cameron played as a right winger in the MLS and Pieters has shown he could play higher up the field (he has played as a left winger before as well). As I said, ANYTHING but that fucking sub, very much including that option. I could play right winger in the MLS and im 64 and overweight Then I really would like to see you doing the things i.e. David Beckham did there as a right winger.

Thank fuck Pulis ball is back. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/0m0lbCuTEBzaRn6f8QaM.gif) Played well today boys and a point was the least we deserved. I agree, Stafford. Proud of the lads today; they showed ability and spirit.

75 minutes very serious performance of the team, controlling ManU all the way
I agree with many Users here, that Hughes made wrong substitutes...there was no offensive relief in second half

The major positive is going to OT and looking like we can score a lot of goals. The downside is that it means nothing ultimately if you lose. Bringing Wilson on for Arnie was wrong. Assaidi would have given us pace on the break for the last half hour or so. It would have been invaluable. Still, on to the next one where hopefully we can carry on our attacking form from today. To be fair, if Assaidi came on and we lost people would still be moaning. You can't win.

Maybe Assaidi would have given them something to worry about so they may have been slightly less inclined to hrow everything at our defence. At one time United was made up of 4 strikers! That almost certainly came about because of our lack of threat going forward.

Its a home for footballers who are past it. Always has been and always will be. A terrible level of football probably not even as good as Scottish.

To be totally fair, if Assaidi came on and nothing happened the board would have received stick for not backing their man and giving him better attacking options. By making that gutless substitution, Hughes has done nothing but deflect criticism from the board onto himself.

What about Geoff Cameron then? Agudelo? Cameron nothing special no idea about Agudelo. Players from England go there like old horses go out to graze. Easy life for them. You cant name 10 Americans who have made it in the Prem. And don't include Cameron because he hasn't.

I have no idea how you define "made it" - but the United States have produced some good players over the years. Altidore Bradley Dembele Donovan Howard Guzan Friedel Holden Dempsey Cameron Hahnemann Jones The MLS is getting better, you cannot deny that. And to compare it the the SPL is wrong, in my opinion.

Your list is laughable, how many of them are American? How many of them actually nmade it big in the prem? Altidore not made it yet Holden not made it. Bradley who? Dembele Belgium Dempsey one good season then back home. Jones?? Cameron not a top quality player That's just of the top of my head.

You asked me to make a list of American players who's made it in the Prem, not "top quality players". Make a list of ten "top quality" Scottish players who have made it in the Premiership in in the last few years then, boy? I bet it will turn out just as "laughable" as the list I just made of American players.
