My dad was a Stoke fan and we lived in Uttoxeter, his dad was a Stoke fan. He took me and my brother to my first Stoke match v Tottenham when I was only 4. I am 45 now and live in the black country and have 2 sons (20 year old and 10 year old) who are Stoke mad. We are all season ticket holders and have been for ages. But its not all good news I must confess I have failed with my 18 year old daughter who seems to favour Manure sorry fellow stokies On a more positive note its great to see me 10 yr old in his full Stoke kit when his mates have a football party at Molineux or bag of shit ground ;D ;D

I remember saturdays in the early eighties going up me nan's when I was a nipper, my grandad and my uncle, who was only about 14 at the time used to go down stoke early doors via the pub and roll back after about 10 pints peddy full of banter and the best stories. I loved saturdays and they promised one day when i was old enough they'd take me ! So you could say its in the family.
Unfortunately my grandad passed away suddingly before he could take me so my Dad stepped up and took me to my first game as I was so gutted. We sat in the boothen stand, boothen end was too rough apparantly, and I loved it. A group of lads sat behind us singing oh staffordshire is wonderful, we laughed so hard we cried, mainly for my grandad I think.
Two season later I got on that boothen.

Good story that Whitewallboy, nice one.
I'm third generation Glory Hunter. Granddad was a Bury fan but moved to stoke ater the war and just changed sides! Dad was from Hanley but I'm from Brum.
Flirted with the Villa till I was about 5 but realised my dad would only take me to stoke games and I knew more about the stoke team anyway!

It's my local club! And I'm very stoic about living in Stoke anyway, so there was literally no other option.

Im a Stokie because of the crowd???
At just four years old I remember standing in the back yard of my Aunties terraced house which was right next to the Victoria Ground. The roar of the crowd just washed over the walls of the Stadium straight into the back yard!!!! WOW I rememeber like it was yesterday.
I badgered my Dad till he took me, and the rest is history.

My Dad is, my Grandfather was and my Great Grandfather was. I remember us all going to games in the early 60s. It's obviously genetic.

My mate (Nipper - now deceased) took me, when I was twelve years old, fifty nine years ago. We walked from Kidsgrove. No choice after that. Thanks Nipper for baptising me into the faith.

My dad took me for my 4th birthday, 22 years ago this August. And bought me the kit as well. I remember sitting in the Gardners, getting hyper on Coca Cola and crisps, playing skittles in the corner and kicking the football against the cars outside, until it was time to sit on the bars in the Boothen End. I've been hooked ever since. Wouldn't change it for all the European Cups and top flight glory my friends have seen. I'm with a real club with the best fans in the world! And if I ever meet anyone that is willing to have me inject them with my population paste, I shall be forcing the tradition on to my kids too.

My Dad took me to a game when I was 7 or 8, we beat Reading 3-0 at home I was in the Butler Street stand they had 2 men sent off. It was 91-92 season. Got a season ticket the following year, the most magical season of all! Had STs for years after that until life took me away from SoT.
I think the real reason is that for all the heartache, mediocrity and disappointment of the last ten years or so, whenever I start to doubt they dig out a magical result which just makes me fill with pride. I never shirk from telling people about how great Stoke are and what an amazing time I had and have following them.
Also I've been to Chelski, Arsenal and Spurs since living in London and quite frankly the atmosphere is embarrasing - even 15k at the Vic made plenty more noise than 40k at any of those places. The Boothen End mentals will live long in the memory.
Jesus I'm welling up!

I had my first season-ticket (Butler Street Stand) at the age of 7, which my grandfather bought for me shortly after my father died, which was 1970 My Dad and Grandad had supported Stoke all their lives.
I was also born and bred very close to the ground and attended St. Peters Primary (directly behind the Boothen). As kids we used to "crog" into the ground and run up and down the terracing before being chucked-out by the groundsman.
Happy Days
Stoke City FC are part of me, they always were, always are, and always will be.
