I thought that too Pricey. And it was only Everton and another who have a smaller pitch due to it physically being impossible to make them any bigger.

The thing is whenever I see a game at Old Trafford, Citeh or Villa I always think they've got a big pitch so maybe we've been led to believe something that isn't actually true?

Indeed - I also thought they'd all been standardised?
So Pat Nevin's "expert" insight is that larger pitch dimensions give more area to play in? Bloody genius.

K.22 might be in relation to the sight lines for cameras and fans that Nevin mentions though?

K.22 might be in relation to the sight lines for cameras and fans that Nevin mentions though? i don't really get what he was trying to say there. surely, as the pitches are uniformed in size by law, MOST of the pitches will be of the same dimensions, other than those with extremely tight grounds such as QPR and everton where it's not physically possible. it is physically possible to fit the regulation size pitch into the brit so surely it would be illegal for us to have a smaller pitch, unless we have exploited some sort of loophole. The fact that his figures are so varying for a league with rules on a regulated pitch size suggest his figures are either out of date or wrong. I could be wrong of course, but that's just the way i see it.

I think he's referring to the situation as it was two seasons ago (i.e. the season after our Cup Final appearance) not how it was last season. Sloppy by Nevin but also sloppy by the BBC who should have done their research properly.
I seem to recall that there are two or three clubs with pitches which can't meet the criteria in the Prem. Ours is NOT one of those three as there is ample grassed area to expand the pitch further if we wanted to - and we have no sightline problems for people or camera positions.

our pitch is 2 yards shorter at each end this year 4 yards on total,, i asume it was to facilitate the goal line technology,, because of where the cameras are positioned ,,,

Nevin needs to be condemned to room 101.

Liverpool also have a smaller pitch than the standard, they used to have to get dispensation from UEFA each year as they couldn't even meet the minimum requirements for Europe. At least they don't have to worry about that anymore.

As expert as his fellow Scotch man Dalglish claiming we'd changed the. Size of the pitch when we played Liverpool during our UEFA season. A 'fact' that all the fucking plastic scousers I know quoted back to me after we beat them.

Even the smallest area must look like 1000 square yards less to a shortarse like Nevin.
