It looks as though events may conspire to turn me into an armchair glory hunter. Match of the Day here I come.

I think you are being a bit harsh tonting 3, we are all supporters of SCFC, not everyone can afford to, or is able to go to every game.
It doesn't mean you are less of a fan, just that you have other commitments, live a long way from Brit etc etc.
I personally will be gutted if the stadium is effectively all ST's next year as I live in South and won't beable to make enough games to make an ST cost effective

My work prevents me from buying a season ticket. I have to work weekends tongting. You jumped the gun a little early then duck.
If I bought a season ticket I would have to give it away for at least a third of the games probably more.
Maybe other people are in the same boat?

Hmmm...I sent off a fax yesterday ( as i always do ) for tickets, and asked the club to ring me to tell me if I could get what i wanted. I've heard nothing, sent another fax, heard nothing and tried to ring to find I was "38th" in the queue
so.....did they process mine before they sold out or were they disregarding faxes to deal with the telephone bookings...will I ever know ???

Mr Moxley, unfortunatly is correct, I used to work in the turnstile in the away end and it can be segregated in the concourse to avoid problems. there are 2 banks of doors in there and a kiosk for food in each section.
They could sell atleast opne more block if required, but like a previous poster said these may be for leicester.

Don't you just love the rubbish that gets spouted on this board - one minute it's "Our crowds are terrible, why don't more people come and support the team?", then, when we get a big crowd it's "Where have all these gloryhunters come from?" Makes me laugh my head off

Too true - even when there is nothing to moan about, Stokies seem to do their damnedest to find summat!!
Successful team = more supporters. It ain't rocket science.
If you want to make sure of tickets, either you get a season ticket or, if circumstances dictate you can't (like me, living in Jersey I can only make about 15 games a season), then you become a Potters Foundation member (like I did), who get first dibs after season ticket holders, and make sure you are on the phone the first day tickets are on sale to you. When the Leicester tickets were available from 9am, I was on the phone from 9.10 holding for 40 mins, got my choice of pretty much all of the Boothen End not already taken by season ticket holders.
I have limited sympathy for some of the daft sods (again there are exceptions where people have simply been unable to buy tickets for a good reason) who have taken three weeks to realise this game is going to be a sellout, then moaned to high heaven when they have failed to get off their arses to get a ticket!!

Not giving us anymore tickets then???
Most unfair thing I've ever heard.
2 blocks for segregation!! now that really takes the p!ss, we manage it with 1 line of police at the walkers and thats splitting the away fans from our main passionate section!
1600! what sort of number is that? whereas every other club at the britannia gets 4,800 every game. Do the senior people at your club not realise this game is vital for us too??

every sympathy for you foxontour but we've got to look after ourselves first.
I would imagine the two unsold blocks are either because of police advice or because the club are keeping them back until after the weekend (hopefully we are already up and you are already safe then it will be less of an issue for you guys)

Oh, what short memories we have!! When we were in the play-offs with you lot in the mid-90s I went to the away match at Filbert St, but many of my mates could not, given the pathetically small away allocation we were given. What goes around comes around, my friend. It's our ground, our promotion we want to cheer on, our supporters that our team wants to hear shouting encouragement. We have sold out the rest of the ground, so it is not as if there will be thousands of empty seats in our areas. In fact, we could probably sell a few thousand more ourselves. If it was at the crisp bowl, your club would do the same. In playground speak - tough titty!!

yeah tbh mate, I'm sure the police are more to blame than your club.
I've had a chaotic morning ringing our ticket office desperately trying to get tickets.
I think you'd have been fine doing it against a shite supported club like QPR, Charlton, Scunthrope etc. but us possibly needing something to avoid our 1st ever seadon outside the top 2 divisions it's very unfair.

Clubs are always allocated 3,200 at our ground.
Its similar with the situation between us and sheff wed this sat. They sold out their allocation, asked for more, we said no. and thats only because we've sold out ourselves 32,000 for the game. The difference is 1600 - 3200. I really though we were entitled to 10% of your capaity, obviously not!

Post by Deleted on Apr 24, 2008 10:46:48 GMT
I was under the impression it was 10% or 2000, whichever is lowest, but not so sure now. I still think you may be given another block if you have something to play for. If not we'll get it maybe?

Foxesontour will you be goading the Stoke fans on May 4 the way you were at The Crisp-Bowl earlier this season?
We'll see how hard you really are on May 4
Personally, I think 1600 is too many
We had half that amount for the first leg semi in 1996 - and when I used to visit Filbert Street years ago we were always shoved up the corner of the "home-end" like sardines
Revenge is a dish best served cold and I sincerely hope that we send you wankers down

If there are Stoke fans that will make use of a section of that 4,800 away end then to our club it is a better use than an extra thousand people singing: The Lessssssssstaaaaaa. You would do the same and you know it

Perhaps the club could organise a free "Big Screen" for fans who can't get into the Brit. They just need somewhere big enough to put it and then hold a few hundrerd/thousand people.
