I was going to say it still seems like we couldn't score in a brothel.

From the interactive text it reads that Pennant is working hard

That does sound quite similar to the games in the US. Played it around nicely, built from the back, full backs getting forward more etc... but lacking that cutting edge in the final third.
My worry is that playing it around at the back might be slightly more difficult at Anfield with Liverpool pressing us high up the pitch.

Not a single bloody shot on target from us, with 5 to Wrecsam!

These are friendlies, we're only being so tippy tappy to get everyone used to playing again. I'm sure we'll pass it round more, but I very much doubt that against Premier League opponents we'll be trying to play like Barca.

But just as bloody toothless!

Crouch is no threat in front of goal. We need a striker ASAP.

At least there is some time to buy in at least one quality forward

It's the way football is meant to be played. Along the ground. Not in the fucking air. You want that, go watch rugby.

It's nt just a striker we need though is it. If we are playing 3 centre midfielders we need one who can make things happen and score goals. We also need pacy wingers who offer a goal threat. How often domEtherington and Pennant score? I am honestly quite worried about this season.

There is no 'right' way to play football beyond scoring more goals than the opposition.
Sounds like we're still struggling in that department.

I agree and I said I think we'll pass more, however I very much doubt after 5 years of hoofball we'll be able to make a quick transition into EFFECTIVE tippy tappy. I cannot see us keeping the ball against Liverpool somehow.

I think we need to spend 20 mil or so before we can be confident of having a good season, we need another 4-5 players!

Nothing wrong with scoring off a cross or the like. If it was meant to be played solely on the floor we'd have a head height rule enshrined in the laws of football.

we have to vary our game if we try to outplay teams with technically better players we will always lose to them , we need to be a strong aggressive team but show more quality
