If we're genuinely interested we should be able to tip the balance with the American lads that are already here We can beat Valencia for money too. But if I was given the choice of Stoke or Valencia on a similar wage and squad footing there's only one winner...........Valencia. 20 odd degrees in February would clinch it.

I get the feeling that the chance to sign this la has come and gone.
Valencia could kill us on fees and wages I feel, especially in this new age of cost cutting.

I'm getting a sinking feeling about this transfer, the longer it goes on it seems the less likely that he will sign for us. And now this says that Valencia have made contact with him today after we made noises last week.

That just seems to cite that potentially dodgy 'canalvalenciacf' twitter feed as the source of the alleged Valencia interest though - so nothing really new. Given the other names they're being linked with to replace Soldado, it'd be a surprise if they were interested in him. Mind you, I suppose they could take a cheap punt on him, given he'll be cheap.

So what exactly was Scholes doing in the States last week when he was allegedly supposed to be sorting this deal out ?

So what exactly was Scholes doing in the States last week when he was allegedly supposed to be sorting this deal out ? As is the norm with us, these links just tail off into the ether. We suffer from having no press who really take an interest in us and try and get info. John Percy takes a bit of interest, but no-one else gives a toss. Most other clubs have a dedicated regional press pack. We don't. We're a bit of an afterthought and seem to be in a geographical dead zone Sentinel seem out of the loop recently. "Advanced talks" on Friday, Scholes returns after "talks in Philadelphia and Kansas with the MLS, club and player" with no deal agreed. Then we hear nothing...........

Yes I agree... we hear snippets and then it all goes quiet, and then nothing...... I think part of the problem lies in our geographical position...Midlands seem to think we're in Granada land and Granada think we're in the Midlands, and it's the same with the papers. We seem to fall in between the cracks and go unnoticed.

Aren't they 300m in debt? Why can we never close deals. We seem to struggle more than any other club.

Roughly translated The future of American Juan Agudelo has European look. The young forward of the New England Revolution of Major League Soccer (MLS) is about to fulfill his dream to make the jump to play in Europe. Born in Colombia, Agudelo already has played on three MLS teams: the New York Red Bulls, Chivas USA and Revolution. But last winter spent a good period to exercise with the Celtic of Glasgow and also a week in London with West Ham United, which knows very well how are things in European football. The past weekend rumours of a transfer to the Stoke City multiplied. The British newspaper, 'Stoke Sentinel', published that the English team was about to sign Agudelo, although at the moment officer has not become any signing. This Monday has been rumored that a Spanish team also wants to gain the services of Agudelo. According to the Twitter of @canalvalenciacf, the whole che is interested in the player for 20 years and the President Amadeo except would have already contacted with him. Agudelo adds eight goals in 11 games this season in the MLS. Twitter: @archbell

I'm surprised Valencia were interested in him for 20 years. Why not go for him sooner? ;-)

Potentially the 3rd striker we have publicaly been close too & not signed. When we do get concerned? When we abandon our financial position on a target and pay over the odds instead of moving on to the next one - People need to calm down.
