Former Stoke striker Mamady Sidibe, 33, insists: "You have some players who are fasting on a match day and doing very well, it's no problem. I make sure that on match day I'm not fasting and not to give excuses to people." Watch 'The Muslim Premier League' on BBC1 on Sunday, 7 July at 12:20 BST or catch it again on Monday 8 July at 23:35 BST.www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23159023

Love you Mama. You're like the Grace Jones of the potteries- chiselled from onyx. And I'm not even gay, proving im neither racist or homophobic.

Don't need no religion for bacon and cheese oatcakes and bass beer. Ps Muslim footballers would take the best bit out of the bacon and cheese oatcakes. The bacon.

Just out of curiosity. If there are 2 Muslim CBs and the opposition forward covered himself in pork products, would they not go near him or it just eating it they have problem with?

Even reading this thread, I really dont see how religous belief systems should have any relevance or impact upon Association football
all religion does is cause conflict and discord I find
history has proved (to me) religion is a waste of time for the human race,
and Im not aetheist - I just keep my own council and prefer not to inflict my belief systems upon others
(unless prompted - like here)

Didn't Ribery vow never to talk to his team mate again for pouring beer on him? I think its wise to keep pork well away :).

"How Muslims are changing English football culture"
They are not though...are they. Not one little bit. Its a stupid article.
Exactly what part of football "culture" has changed?
"Muslim footballers are provided with halal food, have the option to shower separately from the rest of the team and are given time and space for prayer." ---- Some bloke choses to wait for his dinner for 24 hours or has a different bit of chicken on his salad?
"Champagne was phased out and now all players receive a small trophy instead"----who gives a shit?
"Last month Cisse said he planned to talk to Newcastle and their new sponsors, Wonga, because he was worried his Muslim beliefs would be compromised if he were seen to promote the company." ----- Nothing has actually changed though has it? Nothing.
What a load of crap.

Yeah I don't think they are either, I mean I didn't even realise there was 40 Muslims playing in the Premier League and I don't give two shits tbf. If there was 0 I wouldn't be arsed, if there was 100's I wouldn't arsed. The only way I'd be arsed was if they were a twat or played for Stoke. And even then religion wouldn't come into it because religion and football should be kept galaxies apart.
