Has been posted before I know, but many may not have seen this. Amongst the many "Urban Myths" about our origins of Delilah, one rumour is SAHB appeared at the Vic supporting Rush back in the 70's and did their rendition of Delilah, and following Sat loads of Stokies still singing it. Anyway...This clip is just awesome, love the bit with the mannequins, and the camped up little jig during the instrumental bit...Enjoy

I first saw that theory on Delilah on this m/b in about 2003. I know Alex Harvey played at the Vic but didn't hear Stokies ever sing Delilah until the late 80s.

I was at the gig but don't recall Rush appearing. Although his doesn't mean to say they didn't it being nearly 40 years ago. You are right that SAHB sang Delilah to 100s of Stokies. There is arguement that this is where it originated as the Stoke song. I don't know if this is correct but it is a good story and why let truth get in the way? Unless, of course, the true story of Delilah's origins is a better one. PS: Clip is a great find. Thanks.

Although they get lots of mentions on here, this is the only thread I could find with a suitable title to post this video to. I was one of many here it seems to have been at the Victoria Ground when Alex Harvey played there back in 1975 and have never lost my fondness for the band. I thought I'd lost this video that I helped to shoot, at a fans convention back in 2007 at The Robin in Bilston (long after Alex's passing of course). And as I missed posting about it here at the time... RIP to a fine keyboard player and all round good bloke Hugh McKenna 1949-2019 In case there are any similar nerds to myself who might be interested, at 1:00 you spot the actual chef (Evertonian Mike Royden) that the song 'Give my compliments to the chef' was written about. I even make a small cameo appearance myself

Thought they supported Yes at the Victoria Ground show, hence why we sing Delilah?

I went to the gig at the Victoria Ground but it was 1975. SAHB were second on the bill to Yes, and there was also Ace and Gryphon. Just googled it and was 17th May 1975. Neither Rush nor Badfinger were there that time. I seem to recall SAHB did sing Delilah.

The sensational Alex Harvey experience tribute band, played at the Artisan Tap a few months ago. Gutted to miss it and was sold out. Hope they’re back soon.

I don't know a single person who can remember Delilah being sung in the 70's, not one.
You'll Never Walk Alone, yep but definitely not Delilah.
Alex Harvey being support at the Yes gig is a complete coincidence.
