Went in the one in Tunstall yesterday to grab a drink,a can of coke it was.
On the can it said 45p(not a label but printed on the can itself),when i get to the till the girl says a pound please.
I pointed put that it said 45p on it and she said yes but they are a pound each or 3 for a pound do you want to grab another two?
I told her i only wanted one, thats a pound then was the reply.but its got 45p on the can,
Yeh i know but they are a pound?????
My question is can they sell something for more than double the price that is stated??
It didnt have RRP on it either.

You should have bought 3 for £1, took 2 of them back and asked for a £2 refund. You're too soft.

I love these kind of threads :). I can always imagine people going "right, wait till the Oatcake hears of this!" before storming out.
But seriously, its bloody pathetic. You should have done a "falling down" and smashed up the shop with a bat.

I'm a bit miffed at Walkers crisps tbh, individual bags at 32.5 gms i think, but the 6 pack bags are 25 gms. and a lot of poundland products may seem cheaper, but they contain smaller offerings from the normal rip off supermarkets. fray bentos are nice though at £1
TEST

It is crackers and a bit shit but I like it. I just want to go home *boom*

They can charge what they want. Legally speaking, the price displayed is an invitation for you to make them an offer to buy it for 45p. They can then tell you to f off if they want to.
Trading standards might take a dim view though.

some bloke asked him for a can of coke and he said "sure, that's 90p please"..the bloke came back with "But they're only 50p in the co-op" to which my mate replied "Yeah, i know that's where we get 'em from"

Prices on goods doesn't constitute a contract. It's an offer and the proprietor doesn't have to sell at the price offered. However good customer relations would dictate that a price offered is what you pay but isn't legally binding. Anyway our local 99p shop sell grow bags ....the very same ones that are being sold "on offer" at Morrisons for £2.49p each or 3 for £6.-
