I'm going to a friend's wedding in Australia in September and was wondering if any Stokies in Oz had any advice on when and from whom to buy tickets from! Cheapest I've found are £660 from this site ( DialAFlight), but I haven't called the number yet. Is that a good deal or should I wait and hope the prices come down? Do airlines do summer sales (or winter sales in Oz I suppose)? Cheers

Whenever I used to go with my parents a few years back, I found that ringing around travel agents and getting quotes was the best way of doing it. We always used to go with a travel agent company called Delta Travel Also, get your tickets ASAP. Me parents used to get there's booked up about 4 or 5 months in advance and they used to save quite a bit Hope this helps a bit

They were pretty helpful too were Delta. Think their office is in the University part of Manchester but just give 'em a bell. Their phone number should be knocking around in the Yellow Pages as well Where in Oz are you off to?

They're getting married in Townsville in North Queensland. He's also hired a boat for us to go out onto the reef with for 2 or 3 days! Can't wait to be honest.
I live in Bristol, so I'll scour the travel agents here to see what they can offer me - not sure I've ever heard of Delta Travel though!

Bloody hell.. sounds lovely! Been Brisbane a few times and also Sydney and they're both amazing places to go. You'll love it over there I'd never heard of Delta Travel until we'd shopped around ourselves but your best bet is definately getting quotes and getting them to compete against eachother, see if they'll reduce their prices I'd also recommend going with Malaysia Airlines. Loads of legroom and when I used to go they put us in a 5 star Hilton on the Kuala Lumpur airport site for the night. That should only cost another £40ish but I'd advice it because it helps with the long distance travelling, especially if your not used to it
