People have suggested we could bring Gary or Phil Neville in as an assistant to the new manager, but personally I would be chuffed to bits if we could make this happen. I know he wants to carry on playing for another year or two but I think Stoke should at least speak to him about it. I think Rory has all the attributes to be a great manager one day and this would be a perfect platform for him to start off on. He has a great understanding of the game, and he is hugely respected by our fans and knows how the club operates.

I'd certainly like him to be involved at some level with us.

I'd really like Garry to be the new manager myself

We missed his influence around the club massively after he went to Barnsley.
Whether he turns out to be a great manager or coach remains to be seen, but he's definitely one of those guys that will help you move in the right direction, with his attitude and personality.

Can't we just let the new man bring his own back room staff that they're comfortable with?

Can't we just let the new man bring his own back room staff that they're comfortable with? I suspect that is what will happen, personally I'd rather we tried to persuade Rory.

Can't we just let the new man bring his own back room staff that they're comfortable with? That's what will happen anyway Rob. Got a feeling it's going to be an exciting time.

Can't we just let the new man bring his own back room staff that they're comfortable with? Yes, of course, but the new man may also decide to keep one or two good eggs somewhere in the set-up, to maintain the connection to the good things we've done in the fairly recent past, without being an overbearing ego to get in the way. Stoke are at their best when there's a good link between the players/management and the fans. Rory provides that instantly. The new broom should sweep away all the crap from the floor. But some of the stuff on the floor may be worth keeping.

It'd be a much better idea for the new manager to choose his own backroom team and help ease the transition.

Can't we just let the new man bring his own back room staff that they're comfortable with? I'll remind you of this quote if the new man chooses Kemp!

Love him to stay on at the club in some sort of coaching capacity.
