OddsWonder where this Hughes momentum is coming from in the betting? He hasn't really been strongly linked as such? I'd rather have Glenn Hughes to be honest! At least he can play bass.... ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/kwfoKwtHI0jglJZ4qZf6.gif)

The thing with "next manager" bets is that so long as all the candidates remain at odds against it signifies to me that the bookies haven't got a clue.

It won't be Mark Hughes. I'm pretty certain of this.

OddsWonder where this Hughes momentum is coming from in the betting? He hasn't really been strongly linked as such? In terms of percentage price change on betfair Martinez is the other big mover, matched at 50/1 when the market opened and matched as low as 9/1 over night. How much of that could be down to the newspaper article?

Could you imagine Hughes getting the job and brings in Danny Murphy to work along side him? ![B-|](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/GW5u7F6ZsL7YqNjCbXMk.gif)

I've got no inside info, he is not the man for Stoke and I'm positive he won't join us. No point getting rid of TP and bringing in this type manager.

Rafa has to be the man they push the boat out for.
One of the issues we faced waas attracting talent, the likes of a Michu, with Pulis at the helm. So we had to go for unfancied players, with a point to prove, proven but at the wrong end of their career, players desperate for a move but no other interest (most of our best and worst signings fit this category) - usually involving paying more than their true worth.
Pay Rafa 3m a year, 4m a year, I reckon he would save us a load in transfer fees because he would be able to attract the likes of a Michu - he has the gravitas in the game that such players would come and play for him. Sorry to use just Michu as an example but you get my thrust. This is the "untapped" overseas market that Pulis really struggled to get any interest from and yet you can pay a lot lot less for such players than the market that Pulis had to tap into because of his lower credibility in the game.

Whoever it is, we need to get behind them and give them our full support. The new Manager will have to be given a proper chance, and time, to put their stamp on things.
It isn't going to be a quick fix.

Don't want Hughes that is for sure.
Still think Martinez is our best option at the minute.

It isn't going to be a quick fix. Indeedy, it will take a little while to re-learn the art of football. However, the better footballers within the club will blend with new signings and will feel re-born. Does anyone really feel threatened by Cardiff, Hull and Watford/Palace over the course of 38 games. Not being arrogant or complacent but it's a massive step up for these clubs. Our future has never been so exciting - once the negativity (that's been part of our psyche for so long) has fully evaporated we can learn to enjoy a new found positivity and ENJOYMENT...

The appointment of Hughes could go wrong very quickly it's obvious like TP he is splitting opinion on here and for me that's not what we need we want a manager we can all get behind 100% something the club hasn't had since Macari.
If Hughes was to be installed and loses his first couple of game you will start to here the anti Hughes section start to sing TP s Barry army, we will have the fans arguing amongst themselves and there will be a real negative feel.
If Hughes wins his first couple and brings a couple of exciting players to the club we will be ok for a while until we go through a bad patch but again those opposed to Hughes would start to make there voices heard.
It seems to me this is the case for Poyet, Martinez and RDM they are all splitting opinion and the same applies, albeit Martinez probably has more for than against.
The only one that isn't splitting opinion is Rafa and although I could never see it happen the positives of getting him would be immense there would be a real good atmosphere around the club we could attract a more high profile player due to his reputation in the game, those 2500 ST would be queuing back up to renew and more.
The more and more this goes on the more likely its looking like Hughes glad I had him at 12/1 but just like my gut feeling with TP I would still be fearing the worst from now until the season starts, the club have to be very shrewd in what they do I hope to god these rumours of a deal already done (heard it from a few different places now) are not true, I would rather the club took a week and see what appliactions we get before making a decision
