Must be some much better pictures out there of it than that.
It was lit behind the big "1863" flag while it was held aloft and I noticed a couple of official looking photographers (unless they were the police!) snapping away at it from the pitch side.
I expect those photos would look quite impresssive if this kind of thing floats your boat.

Would look good if we could do 3 red and 2 white in between

I was on the back row (OO) where a couple went off, too.
Guess the lads must've found a boat shop on The Quay...

Yes the idiots in row J Block 43 or so threw one into the goalmouth and had no regard for the women and children in front of them. One of the women suffered from Asthma and had to move further down. The guy swinging his shirt was a pain but at least it helped keep me cool.
The 'crew' in row J are probably the ones the police were chasing. They looked like the 'naughty forty' just looking for trouble and scant regard for anybody else watching the game.

Why did someone lob it into Bego's goal area a few minutes in? My Southampton supporting mate said that a few sets of opposition fans have brought Smoke Bombs to St Mary's this season but Stoke fans were the first to lob one at their own goalkeeper! BM

This reminds me of when we played Colchester away in that crucial game and our fans at the Brit started lobbing bottles and cans at the stewards after ejecting one guy for for going on the pitch . Don't know why the one behind Bego's goal got thrown onto the pitch, kinda defeats the whole purpose but the ones that went off behind that magnificent banner looked good, anybody else notice it was on MOTD too last night?

Looked great but no need to throw them on the pitch. But the picture below with the smoke bomb and the 1863 banner does look mint. Need start seeing more banners, flags and scarf waving away from home to try create a better atmosphere as we have nothing normally to cheer on the pitch at away matches. I can also remember when people use to just throw toilet paper on the pitch surly they can throw that on the pitch instead of smoke bombs if that's how they get their kicks!
