Seeing that this season we will be more well known for a pig than our football I rather think that we should have a thread about pigs. Pig facts, pig pictures intact everything pig!
I will start
Pigs, because of there acute sense of smell have been used on the battle field to sniff out land mines!

Pigs are used to 'sniff out' truffles in some parts of Europe. I know they mostly use dogs for that job......with a pig there would be the danger of it eating the truffle before it could be collected I would have thought ?

PIGS Other than a rescue from vegetarianism. I didn't like them in 'Animal Farm' by George Orwell, but supported them against the Wolf. If that's any use.

Pigs have been used in ancient warfare to frighten elephants of opposing armies. In one legendary battle the pigs were set alight and driven towards the enemy and their elephant bolted killing many of their own side.

Didn't they send pigs down the tunnels they'd made under castle walls, then set them on fire to bring down walls because the fat burnt hotter and for longer ? Saw it on Iron Clad ![(lol)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/lvpvZ64EmrkLcuVniUmo.gif)

Soldiers followed the pigs down the tunnels to collect the remains.
