I don't actually know what KJ's religous beliefs are ... however I do suspect (like you) that they're not particularly that important here but hey they might be, so I'm not going to slag the guy off, just in case they actually are. And even taking the religous angle out of it - imagine if (say) Way Rooney (or whoever) had found a pigs head in his locker this morning - it would be a MASSIVE story around the world and a lot of the football world would be asking, just what the fook is going on at that club? I'm not sure it can simply be dismissed as a fuss over 'fuck all'. I disagree. If Rooney had lost it and smashed up somebody's car then yeah but if he had say, taken it on the chin as a practical joke then it would have been laughed off as good team spirit. I certainly wouldn't have thought 'just what the fook is going on at that club?' It's KJ's reaction that has turned it into a bad story. Christian, Rastafarian, whatever, unless he literally worships pigs i can't see why it was such a huge problem. If he hates pigs so much i would have thought seeing a decapitated one was a good thing. One less devil pig to worry about. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/kwfoKwtHI0jglJZ4qZf6.gif) As I said ... I'm not enough of a prick to comment on a man's beliefs, especially when I don't know what those beliefs actually are (but I'm more than capable of being one when I do!) ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/kwfoKwtHI0jglJZ4qZf6.gif) However, even if he'd taken it directly on the chin, then I'm certain that Wayne Rooney, finding a pigs head in his locker this morning would still have been a massive story around the world and people would have still been questioning the 'motive' behind it. It was a dick head thing to do, by another dick head footballer.

If he had reacted 'properly' we would probably all be giggling about it and using it as proof we have great team spirit. Wouldn't we?

Kenneth says to leave him out of any of this shit, he gets a pig head with a cleaved skull on his clothes. Now, once he's said "leave me out of it", if you go ahead and do it anyway you've got to expect him to go over whats been done? Rock beats scissors, paper beats rock, brick through a windscreen beats pighead ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/kwfoKwtHI0jglJZ4qZf6.gif) Live by the sword, die by the sword.

If he'd done fuck all but Bret had still posted the picture on instagram, you genuinely don't think supporters would be asking what the fook was going on? The reason why KJ acted like he did would certainly not be for religious reasons, it's about respect.
If I found a pigs head in my locker, I would first of all be shocked, and then my mood would probably turn to anger. I would ask 'why me over everybody else?' If I was a fairly quiet member of the dressing room, I would then ask, 'what's your problem'. In that order.
Shock, confusion anger, revenge.

I wouldn't have spent any more time thinking about what was going on. With his reaction, we've got or will get lots of bad press about fractions in the squad (and probably actual fractions), speculation about players leaving, arguing on Twitter and other things that are generally 'bad news'. If he hadn't reacted and all you saw was the photograph what would you have thought? Oh, and i don't care what his religous beliefs are, his reaction was still pathetic.

Seems to be the case. Still, it depends on ones circumstance. If I was on my way out of the club, feeling isolated and not enjoying my time at work, one provocation could send me off.
Not saying KJ ticks all those boxes, but I may be close.
There's always one knob head who likes to show off. If you never wanted to take part in the 'japes' in the first place, and then some cunt aims, or accidentally sends a grenade your way, I'd be pissed.

That's the thing though Beardy ... have you watched SSN tonight or listened to any of the phone ins? Nobody is focussing on the car, it's ALL about the pig. If a pig had turned up in the Anfield dressing room, or the Stamford Bridge dressing room, or the Old Trafford dressing room, it would have still been a massive story even WITHOUT a car window being put through. This story isn't about Kenwyne reaction, it's about a pigs head being put in a top pro's locker.

You seem to be implying most people seem to be disgusted or offended? Having said that, the type of people who laugh it off (i.e. me) are not the sort to be arsed to phone in or text SSN. You only ever hear the polar opposite views on phone ins. I stil see it as quite simple - whoever the pig's head was intended for, KJ's over the top reaction has turned a massive, funny, good press story into a bad press story. I'm not denying it would have been a big story but KJ has turned it sour. We don't know the ins and outs and others may be equally to blame or not but whatever happened he comes out of it badly so i feel totally comfortable to criticise him for being a fanny. The same for his and Walters' missus. If more facts come out i'll criticise others if necessary. But not tonight. I'm off to bed ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/0m0lbCuTEBzaRn6f8QaM.gif)

Don't talk shite and stop patronising others. It could just be a practical joke gone wrong. Anyone trying to be funny runs the risk of occasionally offending others. It is/was not necessarily planned to cause offence. You are just judging the prank by your standards of what is and is not funny. And what are you doing exactly.? I never mentioned whether I thought it was funny or not (for the record I didn't think it was). My main objections to your post are (a) you suggest that it was deliberately planned to cause offence when there is no evidence to support that and (b) you patronise others who may have a different opinion by suggesting that they are "hard of thinking".

This site gets increasingly idiotic, I'm sure much worse things have happened in changing rooms down the years and we now seem to have reached the point people believe a Muslim may cry if he sees a pig. Down the years yes. However, we now have 24 hour news now and a culture that there is always someone at fault for whatever the story of the day is. The worst of this Whielan must have put a lot of thought into this "prank", ie think of the idea, go to the butchers the day before. So he had plenty of time to consider his actions and possible consequences. All of our players know that they live their lives in a bubble and that all there actions are open to public dissemination ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/4tzqvp1fxEemag_TAXLJ.gif) there is no 'I' in Whelan. Paul, I've not listened to any phone-ins, but I'd say without Kenwyne's reaction a journalist has a story about dickhead footballers being dickheads. With Kenwyne's reaction, a journalist has a story about scumbag footballers attacking a player for his religious beliefs. All judgements aside regarding who has done what, if Kenwyne Jones laughs it off and goes home, the media has very little to work with, and the talk show hosts are dealing with a minor incident. I'm not trying to defend anyone but, from a PR perspective, Kenwyne's reaction transformed a story about banter into a story about bullying.

Anybody read the recent story about Frank Ribery? One of his te mates decided to celebrate winning the title by drowning him in beer ( not literally ) being a devout Muslim Ribery took great offence and has vowed never to speak to the player again. The player in question knew of Riberys beliefs so why hasnt this recieved as much news coverage as pig gate? I'm my opinion they are both non events, people trying to be precious over the crock of shit that is religion, Ribery wasn't thinking about his religion when he was shagging under age prostitutes!
