...If the bookies & SSN have got it right and David Moyes does succeed, get your money on Malky Mackay to be the next Everton manager.
I wrote this in more depth on the Fergie thread last night, basically i was told a few weeks ago that Moyes was leaving Everton and Malky Mackay would be leaving Cardiff to take the job.
I didn't quite believe it at the time, because my source would not comment on where Moyes was going, and i couldn't see Mackay leaving Cardiff after promotion.
However, Everton are easily one of the top 7 clubs in the country and i think their pull would be too much for almost any manager outside the top 7.
I've never claimed to be ITK really about anything on this board, but from time to time i do hear snippets from a mate who has one or two connections close to Stoke. This info about Moyes/Mackay came from a lad i met who works for the FA,and has close dealings with all of the clubs in the football and premier league

Someone's just said on the other thread about Martinez.
I can see them going for Martinez over Mackay, however I don't doubt what you're saying. Infact Mackay does seem like an Everton appointment given where Moyes came from.
So in essence, what I'm trying to say is, I've not got a clue who the next manager will be for Everton.

I just don't buy the whole Martinez hype....he's a big reputation with the media, but that's it. His results as Wigan manager have been poor, Bruce had Wigan as a solid mid table side more than capable of holding their own in this league......baring a miracle escape every year Martinez has been piss poor.

This time two years ago, they'd have been putting Tone on the shortlist to replace Moyes. And yet we might finish higher now than we did then. Bizarre.

You would think Martinez would be the choice for Everton.

In all fairness what has Moyes achieved? He's had more money than many make out but the only thing he's won to my mind was a third division play off final in fact Pulis has achieved more honors in that respect.

I don't get the media hype but he has had to work on a relative shoestring compared to most Premier League teams.....

Rafael Benitez will go everton With tonight's result I think Rafa has done a fair job for Chelsea this year. Top 4 finish, Europa league final despite the constant abuse from the crowd & a dictator as a boss. Still has a house in the area & a definite contender for the job. Will Kenwright do it just to piss Liverpool off?

The Beeb reckon it's between Martinez or Laudrup. TBH if I was Kenwright, I'd go with Laudrup: he's a winner and is used to operating with small budgets.
If TP does go (I think it's looking unlikely TBH)it could put us further down the list since some of our potential manager targets would be soaked up by a Everton/Swansea/Wigan re-shuffle.

The only thing moyes has achieved is keeping everton a force in the PL and a continual top 5 team is all.

I agree with the sentiment. I also think that should Moyes go to Manure he will probably take Felliani and Baines with him. If they get Moyes replacement wrong, and if I was a blue I wouldn't be too happy with those names, they could be well in the shit this time next year.

I fear for Everton if they go for Martinez, had he been at any other club Martinez would have been sacked years ago

True, he's not actually won anything, but he is a good manager and working for one of the elite clubs you can see him doing well with the financial backing he'll have. I still can't believe they didn't go for Mourinho, I felt for sure he'd be the one to eventually replace Ferguson.

I believe he is an excellent manager but i just think this is a step too far him,i hope i'm wrong as he seems one of the good guys in football but i really don't see him seeing out his 6 year contract.
