Can't believe it was 20 years ago. As a Green in exile I was in the home end with the father in law. Argyle had a great game that night.

Thanks, David. I don't know how we won that game... we were so bad. Squeaky bum time at the end, but what a celebration afterwards! One of my all-time greatest days as a Stokie.
Thanks for the vid, pretzel.

What a night. Took me trowel on the pitch and took a chunk of the turf from the corner near the Boothen Paddock. 20 years wow.

I remember having the most pounding ever "Boothen End headache" that you'd get at big games after 90 minutes of screaming your head off and being crushed at the back of the middle block.
Happy days!

Brilliant night brilliant memory. Also that night England took a huge step towards failure by throwing the 2-0 lead away against Holland.

Thanks for the link and video. Remember that Fox save from Castle like it was yesterday. That save won us the game.
Football was ace in those days. A totally different sport.

I was 15 at the time and totally obsessed with Stoke.
I remember the Fox double save more clearly than the goal. I also remember charging onto the pitch at the end and the players being in the Boothen Stand lapping up the adulation. there was a souvenir Sentinel out a day or two later and I was on one of the photos, albeit with my face fully obscured by someone's hand- I was gutted.
92/93 will always be my favourite ever season watching Stoke, no matter what happens in the future.

my dad produced a bottle of bubbles when we were on the pitch, the cunning old goat - have to admit it feels like it was more than twenty years ago, but then I have got a roaring hangover this morning

Brilliant night brilliant memory. Also that night England took a huge step towards failure by throwing the 2-0 lead away against Holland. And Scotland lost 5-0 to Portugal - in the famous match where the Scotland manager took tactical advice from his taxi driver (who turned out to be Bobby Robson!). Great night. I went arse over tit on the pitch. Went to college the next day badly hungover and in the same grass stained jeans as the night before.
