If you think that we play anything like Dortmund and Bayern then you are frigging deluded.

Jesus Christ. Real Madrid and Barca may well beat Dortmund and Bayern respectively in next year's champions league, it happens.
The thing that stands out for me is players who are comfortable on the ball and players with skill and ability.

and with confidence through intelligent coaching. Quite a character the Dortmund manager. Bags of personality even when speaking in a second language. Very impressive individual who has assembled a superb team.

Fucking staggering comments. Dortmund in particular play with great skill and technical ability. Besides...since when has Mourinho played tippy tappy? Hes the complete opposite. They were using the long ball far too often and ineffectively tonight. He won the champions league with Inter by playing in a way that was pretty dire to the eye.
Lets not pretend the past 2 nights have been a victory for hoofball. I think thats insulting to both Bayern and Dortmund who have dominated their respective games in all departments.

The manager is Jurgen Klopp, mentioned him last week. Rumour was that Real Madrid were interested in him, they will be now.

Wonderful football to watch though Sid. I wouldn't disagree Geoff. Both the German sides were awesome and to me that was as close to two perfect performances as you could wish to see. I was more in protest to the OP who was implying that the Germans won playing the same kind of style of football that we play, which is just ridiculous.

So if it's not Barcelona it must equal Stoke City? Fantastic logic.

For the record, tippy tappy is tiki-taka It's a well known fact that I coined 'tippy tappy' long before anybody had thought of saying 'tiki taka'.

Real Madrid were hardly tippy tappy tonight. They couldn't string three passes together. It was all long ball from Pepe and Varane

Hard not to agree, their cycle is coming to its end. A few years ago it was us that was dominating Europe. Germany's national team is going to be pretty special too

To be fair Dortmund only just scraped through in the last round to a "lesser" Spanish team. I thought Malaga were a good side in both legs

Yes because Bayern ( who have just appointed "tippy-tappy" supremo Guardiola as manager) and Dortmund play Pulis-ball don't they? YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWN!

H Back to the thread, I was wondering when someone would haphazardly stumble a thread out lazily trying to compare the two German clubs to the way Stoke play. It's not only fucking hilarious but logically and factually arse gravy. H

So much for boring tippy tappys . are you mental? theres such a massive disparity between madrid and barcelonas style. madrid are hoofers by nature they play for set piece and generally try to break as quickly as possible with ronaldo. bayern are all round out of this world and dortmund are about rapid transitions (on the floor!) so i dont know where this crazy logic arises from but it should definitely be discarded.

I think you're missing the point that there are only two ways to play. Either you keep everybody behind the ball and get them to belt it towards the opposition goalie when it goes near them and hope for the best - like Dortmund. Or you mess around passing it between the back four to no effect - like Barcelona. Either way we shouldn't sack Pulis. I think that sums it up.
