Requests Can we have the "Pages" links - that are top left of each thread - ALSO at the bottom-right of each thread (it's killing me scrolling back up to go to the next page) ... this may be a no scripts thing? ... I shall pay a reasonable fee to have this sorted ...
Our LOCATIONS have disappeared ... I can't find an option to show them in settings ... Is this a template-thing?? If it is a template thing, can we have them put back, please?
[*] <---- Using that - within a list like this one (note the indenting) - gave me a fancy bullet-point on the old board ... Is the BBCode different, or has that facility been removed?? Again, I'd like it back if possible ... I'm feeling slightly less posh without it ...
Questions What the hell are BADGES!!!??? How much do I have to pay. Can I have a spotters one for free?
I don't suppose there is a help page for BBCode anywhere?? ... it seems little bits have changed (like the [*] I mention above)
Thank You!

Can we have the stadium background on the full-width forum aswell, rather than just on that narrow version ..... And can you add the smilies box to the quick reply box for those of use who don't know the symbols for them

On the phone, how do you get rid of the start your own forum add that keep following you, little annoying When viewing on my phone I scroll to the very bottom of the page & press the 'Desktop' button, then I can view the 'normal' forum & it's much easier.

Andy
As Drunken Communist says, the page number should follow you down the page.
There is an list function in the formatting section at the top of this window which works. It looks like the BBCode you used before won't work in V5, sorry.
I'm not quite sure why your location doesn't automatically appear in the mini-profile as well as the main profile, but I've is now added another field at the bottom of the Personal Information, page so if you put your location in there it will now add it to your mini-profile.

Andy As Drunken Communist says, the page number should follow you down the page. It's a no-scripts thing then. I would sooner run without scripts (keeps nasties off my machine) so don't worry, I'll have to get use to scrolling There is an list function in the formatting section at the top of this window which works. It looks like the BBCode you used before won't work in V5, sorry. As above, that only works if you have scripts turned on (in your browser). Again, don't worry, I can make lists ... I'll try to figure out how to get the bullet points back (maybe with V5 some BBCode has changed ... most of the BBCode is identical to the old version ... just not that ... I'll have a Google and see what I can find I'm not quite sure why your location doesn't automatically appear in the mini-profile as well as the main profile, but I've is now added another field at the bottom of the Personal Information, page so if you put your location in there it will now add it to your mini-profile. Thanks for that, Dave (great migration, btw, hardly a hitch as far as I can tell) Cheers

Hmmmm ... www.proboards.com/forum-help-guide/bbcode^^^ That's the Proboards Help page for BBCode BBCode is things you can type without using the fancy Visual Editor (and so, importantly, no need to run scripts in your browser), that let you have smilies and bullet points, fonts and colours and all manner of stuff. All seem to be working OK, except listWhen I try I DO get an indented list, but no bullet points (weird ... Admin might want to ask Proboards ... Or not, I'll make do I'm sure) [list] [*]Item 1 [*]Item 2 [/list]
^^^That used to give me a bullet point next to each item ... And the link above says it still should ... Doesn't though, as you can see below

No "Go to next page" at the bottom of each topic ...If you are allowing scripts to run, in your browser then the bar at the top (with the page numbers on) moves down as you scroll. If you are not running scripts - like me, so you are probably running Firefox browser and NO-SCRIPTS plugin - then you (and me) are stuffed. The little "back to top" link at the bottom of a topic also requires scripts. WorkaroundHere's a key on your keyboard that you have never used ... HOME (next to page-up, page-down and so on ... probably) - Press that and breathe a sigh of relief (taken me a day but it's auto now, for me)

I like two things about this ... I like the idea (may as well if you can like something?) and I like the fact that angry liked salop's suggest of dislike. Crackin' stuff

Is anyone else having problems refreshing a page when in a thread? If I use the 'new' button off the main board it takes me to where I left off in the thread, no problem. But if I stay on that thread and use either F5 or the browser refresh icon it keeps taking me back to that post where I came into the thread. In the meantime the number of posts grows and I have to make my way further and further down the page to get to the new unread posts.
Any chance the old 'link to post' button from the old forum could be put back and would this solve the problem?

Some of the stuff on the ProBoards makes sense, the bit about the link to post bringing up the box with the 2 URL's but to be honest I'm still as unclear now what they do. I get the idea they can be copied and posted into your browser but that seems a long winded way to refresh a page to me unless I have got it all wrong! One thing I will try is to switch from Firefox to IE (I think Chrome has it's own issues from reading other comments so will hold off that one for now) and see if I still get the same issue. Maybe the days of Davesviews have gone for good but the 'link to post' option was great for Page refreshing and keeping up with a fast moving thread. I'll try IE10 for a while and post back here one way or another in a few days. Thanks CW

I opened the 'Luck we do get thread' for the first time using the new button from the main board and it took me to the 1st post, fine. At the time of reading there were 5 posts, the last by 'Oh Bottom'. When I pressed F5 it refreshed back to post 1 and post 5 had disappeared off the bottom of the screen. Suggests it's not a browser issue as it does the same in both Firefox and IE. I never used the F5/refresh icon in the previous version so can't say if I got the same result there too. Thought. I wonder if one of you clever chaps altered the old 'link to post' button in someway so that it mimiced the F5/Refresh action? I seem to remember it being added in the fairly recent past, but it did refresh the page unlike now.

F5/Refresh has always worked the way it does now (the way you don't want it to ) If you had read down to the fourth post, in your example, then pushed F5 (or done Refresh in browser menu) it would have refreshed to that 4th post. I never used the "link to post", on the old board, so can't comment on that

The link to post option that used to be in the bottom of each post that used to refresh the page at the exact point you were at now brings up the 2 URL's box. Maybe the link to post option was 'customised' after all possibly to get around the F5/Refresh page loading as Andy describes? I'll get out of the habit of going for the link to post bit eventually, just takes a few raps across the knuckles and I'll get there!!
