Does anybody know of any transfers getting blocked or the coates family selling a player with out talks with the gaffer?
if not do you think all signings get approve by coates if not should they be?

Pulis wanted to release Wilko. Coates stepped in(this was when he was a lot younger).
Pulis also agreed to sell Shotton to Burnley/Barnsley(not sure) 2 summers ago but Coates also stopped that.
The only two I know of anyway

It is widely alleged they fell out over Ba's medical. IMHO that is hard to believe as Ba's medical may well not have been the reason the deal collapsed

Interesting. to be honest i didnt htink he had a great deal to do with the club i just thought he pumpued money in and left pulis to his own devices. pleople keep slating pulis and his signings then surely it might not all be pulis.
Dont get me wrong im all for the coates and i really appreciate what to do for us as a club and a city providing jobs but if i was giving my millions away id have a say in every single transfer.

Some ITK was on here recently spouting the fact that Coates was not at all chuffed with the Crouch deal. Not sure what aspect though (the cost, Palacios etc).

Pulis wanted to get rid of the entire youth setup along with everyone in it.

No ITK at all, Coates said it in an interview with Five Live. It was that he thought that deal the cost was too much for a player of his age but did the deal anyway because it's what the manager wanted.

Word has it that the boo-boying 'i know fcuk all' anti wankstainers didn't want TP to return 'not ever' but in stepped PC and the rest as they say is history.

so it appears that pulis wants players that will keep him up and pay over the odds but coates wants youth and players for the future. i guess you gotta create the right balance though.
i just want wait to see brek in full fitness. all ive seen of him is youtube videos but he looks like a good purchase.

I would've thought signing of Wilson Palacios offered a good opportunity for Peter Coates to 'step in'
along to lines of - 'he's a cripple tone - they want how much for him ? - are you completely mad ? - that fucking Rednapp might be your best mate but he's also a total bastard

I'm pretty sure Coates, Rawlins, Blake and Bennett were the main saviours of the academy back in the day. TP did want it gone.

Coates was saying in The Sentinel the other night that TP has a free reign over signings.
As for the ITKs, there aren't any on here, only those that think they know.

It was hardly a dig, just making sure Cotes still knew that the first team squad still needs work (as ever).

I guess it depends on Your persuasion how You view it though! ;D

Way to jump into a what is a fair question going all guns blazing on pro-Pulis rhetoric. I suppose we should be thankful you didnt talk about his cock and people gagging on it for once

Depends which era we're talking about. I think we can safely say that Coates 'stepped in' to sell a number of players back in the nineties...

Peschisolido in 1996 springs to mind as one of the all time bits of management interference. I also think failing to support Mick Mills in 1987 cost us promotion that year.
