I've just been watching the classic Granada documentary "Stones in the park". An out of tune, rusty, Rolling Stones play in front of half a million people in Hyde Park in 1969. Who could pull that following now? If you didn't like the Stones, then there was the Who, Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Deep purple.. So many I could mention. Did these guys change the world or were they just entertainment?

Some bands mentioned could still reach that amount, I'd imagine. I think I read that the Led Zeppelin concert in 2007 had around 20 million applications for tickets!

The Stones still sell out all their gigs. AC/DC still do.....played to over a million in Russia at a monsters of rock gig a few years ago. Im just hanging out for Floyd to do one LAST tour....its the only band I will pay seeeerious bucks to see now. Cant think of many venues Floyd HAVENT played at..... Also will never forget Motorhead and Ozzy and RUsh with a bit of dross thrown in at Vale Park early eighties (81 if memory is good....only time I ever went in that shithole

When people go on about a Floyd reunion do they forget that Rick Wright is actually dead? They might mean a Waters/Gilmour reunion but that is highly unlikely.
