What that article fails to mention is the white flag performances away from home (not even attempting to win the game) and against Chelsea. This passage says it all:
"Yes, we've just lost three league games on the trot, but lets take a second to look at the opposition. Man City and Chelsea occupy two of the top three places in the league and have spent hundreds of millions assembling squads full of superstars."
NOT ONE single Stoke fan would complain at losing away at Man City and at home to Chelsea, its the manner of the losses. Its the players constantly being played out of position[/size], its the negative hoof ball we are being put through, its the lack of skill, pace and excitement that is causes so many fans cause for concern

Granted Padders i feel somewhat similar but we were undefeated at home for nigh on a year, so we cant really complain and not turn up at home.Thats why ive decided to support the team saturday.
Away is another issue all together.

I think the issue is broader than the last 3 games.
This season has felt like one long hangover compared to the giddy excitement of establishing ourselves in the Prem against all the odds, playing the first FA Cup Final at Wembley in the Club's history 2 seasons ago and then playing 10 games in Europe last season.
We were on a hiding to nothing this season from day 1. A limp exit from the League Cup and a shitter of a draw in the FA Cup have only served to increase the headache.

'The middle ground is very scarcely occupied. You win a few games; you're going to win the league. You lose a couple; your club is doomed to relegation'
I'd say the middle ground has been vastly occupied by a huge part of the supporters for the last 3 years in particular. Many folk have largely accepted the rough with the smooth as we grind out results but retain our status. With every appauling away performance you're tugged off the fence. With every battled draw or win at home, irrespective of how we actually played, you pick up and keep jumping back on the fence. If you have a good run of results, you got down on the other side of the fence but as soon as everything that is good is torn to pieces and thrown out the window, back to turgid first season great escape shite, you're back again in no mans land.
Folk only have so much energy to keep climbing back on that fence Kev. Fool me once, shame on you....well it seems to happen season after season after season without ANY excuse or reason other than having a brainfuck.
'it is not a time to lose heart or call for the manager's head, it's a time to get behind the lads and help them out of this rut'
Correct, its time for Pulis to stop fucking about, put players in their natural positions and have a bit of confidence and self belief and let us attack. Teams are shit scared to play Stoke, but we do nothing about it other than to keep becoming a parody of ourselves.
'One thing is for sure, if we do manage to get a result on Saturday and back that up with a couple of victories in the league, the disillusion will quickly disappear and we'll all be singing the manager's praises once again.'
...and a couple of shit set-ups and performances away and we'll be back down from that fence again.
'The hard work begins at the weekend against Manchester City; let's get The Bear Pit back to its ferocious best'
The hard work begins from minute 1 of the first game until the full time whistle of the last. Why we decide for half of the season (ie - away games) that we'll just hope for a draw and try to sneak it makes it baffling. One way to guarantee the Bear Pit is back lies firmly at TP's feet.
As I've said on other threads, it does not fit my way of thinking to not be the very best you can be.

He is justifying losing so he doesn't even bother trying to win it. We have spent millions more than swansea,So whats your excuse now TP????

To be honest I seldom post anymore due to the constant negativity. Not a happy clapper, not a rimmer, often go home flat, live for the good days and always support my team. As much as it is frustrating at times, this is one of the best periods I have had in 50 years watching stoke. Keep up the reasoned debate, cut out the wrist slashing and support the team, I certainly will be on Saturday

Anyone who thinks that people are disgruntled with Pulis because of recent form really can't see the real problem. It lies much deeper than that. Our football by and large has been poor for the best part of two years, it was accepted in our first two seasons as a means to an end, and rightly so. Now though given the quality of player that Pulis has been allowed to bring in people expect more, I'm not talking tippy tappy shit, but being able to pass the ball and then move into space to recieve it again,( you know the basics your taught as a kid), should be a given at this level. Pulis has the nerve to moan about square pegs in round holes but he does himself no favours when he buys Charlie Adam to play him as a withdrawn striker, or shoe horn our player of the year centre back to right back to accomodate a past it Woodgate. He has spent a lot of money, also wasted a lot of it but still moans about bein blown out of the water by the likes of Man City etc, by that logic why doesn't he come out and say somthing similar following our draw away at Palace, he's as big a hypocrite as there is. For the record I don't actually want the bloke out, and it's pointless to wish him change his ways as he simply won't, but given the resources he has had it's clear to see why people are frustrated, fed up, pissed off with him and his brand I football.

Said it at the beginning of the season and nothing has changed - we play 1 good game (football wise) in 10. I have supported the club for 48 years and the quality of football we play is awful. I am sick of people laughing at us . And for those that keep saying these other teams have spent x millions of pounds other clubs have not and they still play and look much better than us. I will now not pay money to go away games cus irrespective of who we are playing WE DO NOT GO TO WIN . Season ticket sales for 2013/14 will I feel be a real eye opener. I live Derby and the number of young quality players they are producing is fantastic - where are ours. If somebody says Shotton then Cheddleton awaits - he would not get in any other premiership club full stop. I love Stoke but empty seats Saturday not selling all away tickets - the writing is on the wall please lets get a Manager that wants to play football. Stats - 3 shots average per game thats nowt to do with long ball. Very sad Stokie

Spot on Lee. For me its 3 seasons now the shit dished up as been dire, the only gloss on HIS BRAND is if we manage to win a few games (only at home) if we don't then its 100% horrific dross which many don't want to watch anymore. We should be able to do the basics of say a simple give and go or one two's in and around the box but we conna pass a ball simply to someone 5 yards away and at times its embarrassing to see this at this level.
