Stoke City Soccer Night a Huge Success The recent Aztex Soccer Night was deemed a great success by all who were present. Aztex president and Stoke City director Phil Rawlins, ex-Potter and new Aztex boss Adrian Heath were both present, as well as United Soccer League President Francisco Marcos, to answer questions from the fans and BBC Radio Stoke’s Nigel Johnson. They spoke to supporters in Delilah’s Bar in Britannia Stadium about the link between Stoke and the newly formed soccer franchise in Austin, Texas, informing the City faithful about the plans for the team and the USL. The evening began with Nigel Johnson asking questions to each of the three visitors, followed by a chance for the fans to come up and pitch their views and ask questions. City legend Alan Hudson was also in attendance. The fans who attended enjoyed the evening and were delighted to have a chance to know of the future plans between the two clubs. Lee Richardson, 37, from Longton, said: "It was good to see how the new link is going to work. I’m quite excited to see how the future pans out for both clubs. "It will be interesting to see if we discover some new talent in America to bring to Stoke." Phil Rawlins also said he was excited about the challenge that lays ahead but admits he faces an immediate dilemma. Speaking exclusively to Stoke City World, Rawlins said: "The Aztex U23 side play their first match on May 3 in El Paso, the day before Stoke play their final game of the season against Leicester!
"Because of the time change it is not physically possible for me to do both!
"I’ve got a plane ticket for El Paso and for Manchester Airport so I’ll have to wait and see where my loyalties lie. It depends on the importance of Stoke’s game."By Mark Mothershaw ------------------- You know where your loyalty lies

On the other hand, if our game has no relevance, 'cos all the previous results have gone our way and we are already up, then why not stay in USA!? Am I just dreaming?

What time change? The clocks went forward here in the US weeks ago. If he doesn't attend the El Paso game, I doubt that anyone will notice. It's not like 20,000 fans will be travelling from Austin. I could always offer to stand in for him at the El Paso game.

OK......I probably can't win on this one but here goes anyway The quote isn't quite accurate, what I said was "I have a decision to make, given the time difference I can't physically make it from El Paso to Stoke. So I will have to decide whether to fly from Atlanta to Manchester or Atlanta to El Paso" (I should be in Atlanta on May 1st). There's no contest on where my loyalties lie...... do it for my Mum & Dad[glow=red,2,300][/glow] who were season ticket holders for more than 30 years. PhilR

Phil dunner worry, Hull are only going to get 1 point from the next 2 games. Make sure you squeeze yourself into the directors box at Layer road, thats where the party's going to be at. The Leicester game is a formality.

Leicesters the one. If we go into that with it in our own hands it'll be good.

Joe, like I've said we'll win the next 2, Hull will only get 1 point from the next 2, we'll be promoted at Layer road. We'll be able to go into the Leicester game in full party mood with promotion guaranteed and with 2 things to play for, The title and relegating Leicester. Trust me i've read it in the tea leaves

Bloody tea leafs? Aaaarrrgh!
Sheff Utd will be tough opposition but Hull are made of stern stuff. Respect to them too. They were efficient against Barnsley. Like we need to be on Satdee.

Phil, will you mail me and Tony.....or get Kay to do it if you're too muddled with your time zones. We've both had pc crashes and lost all our email addies....including yours. Dallas, these bluddy journalists eh. Mick.
