We seemed to do so well relying on the "permanents". Now all these suppossed star "loanees" come in and the team as a whole seems less reliable. Should we have bought in all these loanees? Have they helped or hindered? Personally Ameobi is a big waste of money...if we are still in this division next season we could have spent all the Ameobi fees/wages on a good championship player!!

TP has got us to within touching distance of the Prem, why are you questioning him you idiot! if we go up you'll probably be the first to say told you he was good and we could trust him - just get behind the players!

Well mate I am a big Pulis fan, frequently back him in arguments but doesnt stop me thinking!!! I am backing the lads all the way, whoever plays...but still think all these loanees may have upset the team bond/spirit.

they have given us an extra option and a decent bench to pick from rather than lewis buxton and john parkin would you not rather have jay bothroyd and shola ameobi and either shawcross riggot or cort?

It's meant we had a spell of being unsettled as the new loanees found their feet but honestly was there any alternative? If we'd stuck with what we'd got that would have meant the 11 fit players with Pericant and Ant Jr on bench and Simo starting to cost us, and Leon losing his man all the time... so provided we're now settled for the last three I'll stick with what we've got please.

Better to sign players on loan than make impetuous purchases for players in the transfer window.
We have a good squad coming out of a bad run. All is well.

The wheels were coming off before the loanees came in . Simo's form was questionable and we were suffering with ban's to the likes of Whelan , Delap , Lawrence , shawcross and Fuller . I feel alot happier with the squad we have now going into these last three games .

We lost much of the cohesion that took us to the top of the league by bringing in loanees by the busload. Half the reason we look like a team full of strangers most of the time is because they are a team full of strangers.
A few loans to supplement a good squad is a sensible tactic. 'Panic loaning' or loaning players simply because they are available (i.e. Riggott, Nash, Pearson, Ameobi, Bothroyd) when they are clearly not any better than what we already have is daft.
If we miss out it won't be solely because of signing too many (average/unfit) loanees (it will be Pulis' constant cock-ups IMO ...) but too many loans will have been a factor.
So spot on Parkinsbelly.

Do you really not think that Nash , Riggott , Pearson , Bothroyd and Ameobi are better than what we had . Simo , Buxton , Pericard , Parkin ,ant Pulis ?

I disagree. The only one that looks a poor decision is Ameobi. But even then I'd rather have him on the bench than Pericard or Parkin. Just for the doubt it puts into the opposition. If Fuller had played with him v Sheff Wed we'd have walked it, because they had 3 defenders on him all the time!
Riggott, Nash, Pearson and Bothroyd have all brought something to the squad in my view. Would have been better if they'd been brought in earlier - but there you go!
More of an issue in my view is the absence of key players due to suspension (and the brainless nature of some of the bookings!!). This could cost in the end. But I really hope it doesn't.

get real all of the above are better than what we already had with maybe the exception of Shola to date. Nash has been good in goal and good to give simmo some competiton as he has been good for us over the last couple of years but was getting prone to mistakes. Riggot is a good solid defender Pearson has looked class since he arrived Bothroyd given a chance could be a good forward or left sided midfielder Ameobi not quite fit or done too well yet
if we dont go up I agree that it will be suspensions or opportunities not taken - not Pulis mess ups as he has got us where we are!

Riggott has looked the pick of the bunch, but is no different to what we already have. We looked vastly better last weekend when he moved to right-back to allow the Cort/Shawcross winning pairing.
Pearson has looked decent, but isn't going to pull up any trees I doubt.
Nash is no better than Simo, Bothroyd hasn't looked like he's interested and Ameobi isn't fit enough.

so you then contradict yourself by saying that Riggot is a better right back than Griff! Nash is far more commanding than Simo, he comes off his line and doesnt blame everyone else when he does let one in Pearson is the best left sided midfielder at our club by a long way

We didn't sign Riggott as a right-back, and he isn't as good in that position as Wilko anyway. The point I was makaing was that we looked better when he was moved out of the centre of defence, paving the way for Cort and Shawcross, two players with a much better understanding of each others game.
Nash continues to cost us with his awful goal kicks. Not only does it mean we are constantly under pressure, but it can and has cost us goals (Sheff Wed away for one).
