I know this subject is getting a bit tedious, but I've just read a quote given to the BBC by Crwho's Forward thinking , proper footy club Chairman! Quote From John Bowler ' Our club will not be installing undersoil heating despite Saturday's game with Stoke falling victim to the freezing weather'
Maybe if they had put the sauna from their lovely new fitness centre on the pitch then that would have thawed it.
Doesn't sound forward thinking to me! Apologies if this has been on here already! H

They would have no excuses to postpone games when they have players missing.

Why is it so difficult for crewe to stop the pitch freezing? Crewe's chairman mentioned the sun not being able to get through which is fair enough, however don't they have anything to cover the pitch in deepest darkest (frozen) Crewe. I'd have gladly sent them a roll of bin bags - they did the trick in keeping the frost of my newly laid concrete last week! ;D

Is there any kind of fine for having to postpone a game for a frozen pitch, if not there should be. IMHO, under-soil heating, should be a pre-requisite for being in the top two divisions. I was well pissed off when I heard the news, it ruined my whole day. Luckily I had not got on the train yet, so could get a refund for my ticket. But what if I had got on the train and was on my way, would Crewe have compensated for that. I doubt it!! I bet there must have been plenty of Stoke fans already in Crewe that had paid their travel fees, be it in petrol or train tickets. Sorry if this has all been said, but it's wrong, and hard faced comments like that coming out of that club don't help!!
And that my friends is closure ;D ;D.
