The Quitter has a little piece (ooo-err!) on him in The Times this morning, which mainly seems to be aimed at generating sympathy for how hard it's been for him over the last year. When asked if he shouldn't have left Stoke he says "Hindsight is a wonderful thing...I'm older and wiser now." Wonder if he'd have said the same thing if he'd have actually succeeded at Sunderland?? Goes on to talk about how it's good to be back "in the Premiership" (!) and how the Leicester boys have been playing merry japes on him - cutting toes out of his socks and so on - oh how we laughed! Anyway, hindsight may be a wonderful thing, but so's loyalty - QUITTER ALERT!

I had to laugh when I watched The Premiership on Saturday. It showed the quote that Leicester run out to from the tunnel. "Foxes Never Quit" You couldn't make it up could you! ;D Jon

The way things have turned out its a good thing that he quit when he did, he was responsible for Greenacre and Tommy Mooney. God knows where we'd be now if he was still here

If he hadn't done his runner we wouldn't be any better off than we are now. Obviously I can't prove that but at the same time it can't be proved that we'd be doing loads better than we are.
If you wore socks on your ego their players wouldn't find scissors big enough to cut the ones large enough to fit the bloated image he has of himself.

Got to agree, Joe - don't think he would have done any better for us than TP, in fact, I'm sure he wouldn't - not the same clout to persuade the players to come that Tone's obviously got. I couldn't be happier with how it's worked out!

Compare Mooney and Greenacre to say Asaba and Akinbiyi and I think thats how I will look at it. Cotterill could have been a huge hit here. Luckily, we appointed a manager who seems to attract a high calibre of player and, in my view, we're lucky to have TP. Bet not many fans were saying that on November 1st 2002! Think we should have a "There's only one Tony Pulis" chant tonight! Jon

Because TP has more experience of management he has a more clear vision of what players he wants and what he wants them to do in the team. Akinbiyi for example. Despite the jokes about him Tone knew how to get the best from him and thats happening now.
Judas probably realises now that being an assistant is a much different job to being the gaffer.

Quitter could have used Stoke to propel him to where he really wanted to be (The Premiership). Yes he did do this, but ran before he could walk and look where it got him-flat on his face. If anyone saw a Quitter training session, he was very thorough, and if the truth be honest, very good at it. He should do a good job somewhere, someday.
However, TP strikes me and a much better all rounder than Quitter. Good coaching, players seem to like him, able to attract good players. If someone gave the choice of the two (not taking into account what Quitter did to us) i'm sure every (most) Stokie's would say TP. And rightly so.
You cannot imagine TP doing the dirty on us and i've been told he loves his job here.
As they say, you don't know what you have lost until it is gone, and if TP left now, we'd find out just how important to SCFC he is.

The way I read it was that the no good straw sucking twat still can’t admit that he did anything wrong. I continue to wish him ill in all he does.

I think you are spot on there, Super. We did play some nice football under Quitters with an inherited squad no where near as good the one we have now. He did seem to be a good coach. Where he fell down was a lack of experience at a high level. I think he would have seen Greenacre many times when he played against Cheltenham, saw he could cut the mustard at that level and assumed he would be able to do it in Div 1 - as to be fair, most of us did when Greeancre was signed. As events have shown things don't always work out that way. The tragedy of Quitters (not that I have any sympathy) was that a season or two at Stoke would have taught him the things he needed to know. If he had kept us up last season and pushed on this season then he would have been ready for the Prem whether with us or someone else. As it is he has set his career back by three years or so and may have to move down the leagues to get it back on course - silly man!

Thats it PP. He forgot to earn the right to work at top level. And leaving on the call of Wilkinson, a man who was so clearly a spent force was just daft.
If je'd stayed with us and done well and left, say now, I'm ssure many Stokies would wish him ell but he shot himself in the foot. And the ankle. And the knee. Not to mention the stomach.

Nobody can ever forgive Quitter for what he did to us. I remember waking up on that bright October morning, totally oblivious to the fact that my club had no gaffer! I remember the phone call where my old man told me "you will not believe me, Cotterill has quit" "why, why, Why US"?
I'll never forgive him for what he did to us. I remember the moment my Dad told me all I could think about was our season falling apart before our very own eyes. He HAD worked well for us in the shockingly short time he had been here, but the foundations he had not laid! Luckily, TP managed to (somehow) keep us up and look at us now. I'd backed Cotterill to a hilt while he had been here. I took so much flak for the next few days, weeks, months.
How could someone be so ruthless I will never understand. I'd love to meet Quitter (punch his lights out) and see if he really does have remorse.
It's time to forget him now, forgive no, forget, try to.
TP is THE man now!

Nobody can ever forgive Quitter for what he did to us. I've 'forgiven' him. I don't know why people keep bringing Cotterill up either.

You know one thing that really pisses me off in hindsight? There were rumours that Quitters tried to take Greenacre to Sunderland soon after he went there himself - you will recall that Greenacre was still injured when Quitters left but scored twice as sub in the following few weeks. Apparently Greenacre refused to go out of loyalty to Stoke. Full marks to him for loyalty (he is a nice bloke) but I do wish he had buried his principles and taken up the offer.

So by definition he thought Greenacre was good enough for the premier!
It wasn't up to him though, the manager decides what players to get in and Judas was just the teaboy there.

Trying to create sympathy after doing something everyone knows him as scum for. Hes done it twice, really, because of when he came to us to. Surely he'd have known then. ***1_Krissy_Commons sarcasticly pretends to worship the quitter***
