Well, I'll be blown. Well I was several times on the car park. ;D I was talking with my kids the other day about having to wear shoes and a tie to get into clubs in the UK. When did all that stop? I've been stopped several time of late for being over dressed to get into local clubs here or maybe it's because I'm an old tosser. It's quite scary being in a club knowing your daughter is in there also. Can't ever remember my mum and dad in the place or Shellys when I was there. Maybe if I'd poped up to Jolly's I'd have had a chance maybe.

Vallys was my hunting ground for about 3 years from about 93 onwards, had some great times in there. I know what you mean about dressing up, you used to have to get dressed up for a Thursday night!! at one point i had six waistcoats!, I doubt you'd find many with one now!
Basically since bars got late licenses in the mid to late nineties, you dont really get big clubs like Vallys anymore, same goes for the Black Orchid and places like that, although Mr. Smiths in Warringto has now re-opened.

Out of any club I've ever been in, not one has touched the Sugarmill. Lately our Hanley routine has consisted of Varsity, Aruba, Walkabout, then the Mill... But back in the day when we were all underage, we just had to go where we knew we'd get served, so it was Yates' at about 6 before they put a bouncer on the door, then Harley's at about half seven before they put a bouncer on the door, Revo's after that cause they'd take any old shit as ID, then the Mill because they have the best bouncers ever, and prolly knew we were only about 16 but let us in anyway (cause it was never busy before indie scenesters hijacked it, and they needed the business). Got great summertime memories of Yates', especially during study leave of Y12, getting hammered with the odd ciggy then going to my ex missus' house party afterwards and ragging her on the floor of the bathroom.

Ah, I remember 'the Place' and Vallies, despite being sh1t, Vallies was always a better night out.
Living down South I don't go out in Stoke much (sounds like a lucky escape), so didn't know it had gone

i was gonna type something like 'you ode bastards....' but even since i started goin out in hanley its degenerated(im 23 now)
used to be alright, as long as i stuck to the crawl of yates, junction, sugarmill, satchmo's(is that still goin?) the last time i went out in hanley the combined force of dickheads and bouncers far out numbered decent punters, back in t'day........

The place was always half empty in Hanley every time I went in on my lunch break. Is the one in Newcastle staying open as I know people who work there and wouldn't wan them to lose their jobs.
