They are good
Even better if you have a PS3 as you can stream audio/video from PS3 to PSP
You can also use your PSP as a novelty remote control
Get one and a large memory card (2gb-4gb) and then have a look for Pandora's Battery. You can either buy one or make one yourself (take 1hr for a novice)

depends what you're going to use it for i'd say...
i have one and travel a lot with work. these things are superb when stuck in airports / on long haul flights etc. I don't watch moves on it, just play games. the tiger woods games are superb
I've got a couple of batteries and have just invested in a "power monkey" so have about 12 hours of battery time.
PS - if you're going to the US, buy one there. they are $169 (£90 inc tax). they are the same as the UK ones (you can play US games on UK models and vice versa)

I got boyfriend one for his birthday, it's a reconditioned one from game but it's good as new and was £95. He's never had it out of his hand since i got it for him. He loves the tiger woods golf game.
Also he's just got Fifa 08 from play.com for £14.99 as it's on offer at the moment.
He only really wants it for journeys or when i'm watching the tv and he can't stick his ps2 on so it suits him.
