on the pitch. We keep saying it every week...but why is this guy not starting. If nothing else he is as quick as any player we've had in years and is a genuine athlete who will cause the best defenders problems. Pace does that. I think hes been treated really unfairly and just isnt being given the same treatment as those such as Walters, Jones etc (who havent really done much in recent weeks to suggest they are any more of a threat than Jerome).
If this continues, I think it would be fair to say the transfer speculation regarding Jerome's future will be building up pretty quickly. Why wouldnt he want to move if he is constantly on the bench?
I thought considering Pulis clearly didnt prioritise this game, we did pretty well second half. A bit more ambition from the off and we may well have taken something.

His pace is something we do lack, especially coming through midfield, his run today when he had 2 defenders on him highlighted the fact that we needed 11 on the pitch, had Walters been up with him instead of 30 yards away who knows.

I got slated on here earlier in the season for saying fuller is past it and his best days are behind him. No doubt after todays episode people will still think the sun shines through his arse

The problem with Jerome, and one that has been an issue throughout his career, is that when he has had too much time to think when through on goal, he will inevitably bugger up.
He is an instinct player and one who is useful to have in the squad, but, in my opinion, will never be able to achieve 15 goals plus a season, when played regulary.
The comparisons to Fuller are far fetched and bordering on fantasy.
A great athlete with a willingness to improve his game, but does not have the ability of Ricardo.
A lovely unassuming chap, who I have had the pleasue to meet on a few occassions pre Stoke City

Jerome hasn't put a foot wrong since he joined, and all of the Birmingham fans i've heard mouthing off about how crap he is are quite frankly in my opinion, severely mentally ill.
The lad can finish, see the goal against West Brom for an example, plus he's rapid and pace is an essential ingredient if you want to compete in this league.
Like all players he has his downsides, his touch is pretty poor but his positives far, far outway the negative. He should be starting, not coming off the bench for pointless cameos.

I can't understand the thinking behind bringing Jones off instead of Walters, who for me did the square root of fuck all, needs a break.
Jerome should have started for me.

Jerome away from home is a no brainer. Today should have been Jones & Jerome with Fuller on in the last half hour. Jonny Walters is being hung out to dry, he looked worn out today.

I'm sure at least two of our strikers will leave in the summer. I think it will be Jones and Jerome (if he doesn't get more chances in the starting line-up that is).
Just a question: Who would you let go of (if you had to chose)? Walters or Jerome?

Jerome and Crouch/Jones would be my preferred pairing at the moment, with Walters coming on either up front, or on the wing. Surely this would fire SJW up, and we get more pace ans strength into the team.

And once again we are making excuses for lack of wingers... The pace in our team is where our goals tend to come from (either from tear arseing down the wing and scoring, or forcing a throw/corner), so to have a distinct lack of it in either playing 1 winger or having slow/lazy forwards is the main reason why our goal difference has been shit this season.

I really like the look of him now. I thought his attitude didn't look right early on, but I've been really impressed with it the last couple of months. I think he will play a big part for us and deserves a few more starts.
